In this role as Director – Accounts Payable Americas, supporting all our Strategic Business Groups (SBG) across the Americas Region and acting as Disbursements Global Process Owner (GPO), you will serve as a strategic financial leader for the Accounts Payable and Disbursements functions. Your primary goals will be to manage the seamless delivery of the AP & Disbursement financial services in-line with the committed service levels; continuously seek to implement process and financial systems improvements; become a strategic partner for the business functions by excelling in stakeholder management and efficient collaboration with the Business Relationship Managers (BRM); drive productivity initiatives along with the GBS Transformation team demonstrating excellent domain in data analysis, process improvement, change management and AI solutions & applications; building up talent internally through the available skills enhancement, career planning and engagement initiatives, measured through high employee engagement and efficient succession planning. You will be directly accountable for adopting high control standards and ensuring policy compliance in every transaction. 

The role will be reporting directly into the GBS Financial Services Hub Leader for Mexico and will be based out of our Regional Finance Center in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.   

Responsibilities

• Lead the Accounts Payable and Disbursement teams for Americas by setting up performance and productivity standards aligned with the GBS strategic framework  
• Implement and enforce process standardization within the Global Disbursement function in collaboration with Treasury and other finance functions internally; be the decision-maker in terms of Disbursements process transformation and policy enhancement. 
• Serve as main point of contact and partner with other functional leaders (i.e. Sourcing, Business Finance, Treasury, Integrated Supply Chain Finance, Logistics, Controllership etc.) in addressing urgent or complex queries related to process failure modes 
• Monitoring and reporting on agreed SLA/KPI’s with the internal business stakeholders and suggest and lead to implementation initiatives for continuous improvement in terms of timeliness, quality and customer satisfaction 
• Act as safeguard for the existing and develop new and enhanced financial controls when needed  
• Build exceptional talent through efficient team management, coaching, mentoring, and leading continuous skills (re) evaluation and enhancement initiatives in partnership with HR   
• Coordinate the timely preparation and delivery of the annual payment calendars and support reconciliation and reporting activities related to Supply Chain Financing programs 
• Collaborate in the implementation of cash management strategies to maximize returns and minimize risks 
• Collaborate cross functionally with teams to communicate financial performance and strategies to shareholders and analysts and report identified cost-saving opportunities 

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE 

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in progressive finance roles within Accounts Payable or Disbursement functions 
• Team management experience, leading other people managers, preferably within Shared Services/Global Business Services environment 
• US GAAP/IFRS knowledge, reporting and internal control framework experience (SOX) 
• Strategic financial knowledge – working capital, analysis, and forecasting skills. 
• Excellent understanding of financial regulations, reporting standards, and compliance. 
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills 

WE VALUE 

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred 
• Experience with Treasury, Procurement or Integrated Supply Chain finance functions 
• Previous exposure as Global Process Owner within any financial function 
• Significant experience in SAP (ECC or S4/HANA), PowerBI, Tableau, Advanced Excel 
• Exposure or direct experience in implementing AI-driven models/AI-prompting 
• Continuous improvement mindset to always challenge the way things have been done, bring new efficiencies and evolve processes 
• Green belt certification and/or leading LEAN project deployment 
• Strategic thinking and a proven ability to drive financial initiatives. 
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
