The Role

The Director of Accounting will oversee and manage our company's accounting operations. They will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, implementing accounting policies and controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving financial success.


· Manage accounting operations, including month end close, billing and collections, and cash disbursement activities.

· Collaborate on monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting, both internal and external

· Manage quarterly sales commission calculations, collaborate with Revenue Operations to ensure accuracy.

· Implement efficiencies to improve accuracy of financial metrics reviewed by management.

· Establish and implement accounting policies and controls in accordance with the US GAAP, including ASC 606 and ASC 340

· Provide bank covenants calculations and financial statements to lenders.

· Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

· Manage FinancialForce financial ERP and coordinate with operations to ensure contract entry meets ASC 606 requirements.

· Mentor team members to achieve set deadlines as well as meet their career goals.

· Collaborate with Business Systems/IT on Professional Services Automation and Expense Reporting software and how they integrate with FinancialForce.

· Coordinate and manage efforts with external auditors and internal team.

· Partner with other functional areas including FP&A, Revenue Operations, Legal, and Sales Operations as needed.

· Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy when both preparing and reviewing work.

· Team player with effective written and verbal communication, and personnel management skills

· Exceptional communication skills with ability to present analysis and findings in both verbal and written formats to all levels of management.

· Demonstrate a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.


 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in public accounting or high-growth SaaS company, with 2+ years of managing employees.
  • Experience with financial ERPs, FinancialForce a plus.

· Strong Excel skills


In 3 months, you will:

· Have a deep understanding of the operations of the accounting team, including current state of accounting policies, month end close, investor and bank reporting, and sales commission calculations.

· Form strong relationships with each member of the accounting team.

In 6 months, you will:

· Take control of all accounting system functions, including processing revenue recognition.

· Own calculating and reviewing sales commissions.

· Form effective business partnering relationships with FP&A, Professional Services, Business Operations, and Sales Operations.

In 12 months, you will:

· Become a subject matter expert in all accounting data and processes.

· Proactively deliver insights to the business based on most critical impact.

· Own the annual financial statement audit process.


This position may be performed remotely anywhere within the United States except for the states of New York, California, and Colorado.
