About the role

The Director of Accounting, Services owns the integrity of the Nuclear Services financials and the segment’s controllership as TNC builds the business both organically and inorganically. Reporting solid-line to the CAOpreserving a clean line of accounting policy, control, and reporting authority, the role owns month-end close, consolidation handoffs, and the harmonization/consistent application of policy and procedures across all segment entities/businessesThe role works in lockstep with the Head of Finance, Services on financial reporting handoffs and with Corporate Controllership and the external auditor to keep the segment audit-ready and on a credible path to SOX / ICFR readiness. This is a build-it-as-we-scale controllership role that simultaneously improves/scales internal capabilities while integrating new acquisitions as the business grows. 

Responsibilities

  • Month end close. Own the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the division’s books — month-end close and reporting into corporate consolidation — working in lockstep with the Corporate Controller on process, policy, close calendar, and consolidation handoffs. 
  • Technical accounting & policy. Ensure consistent application of accounting policy across all Service segment entities (including acquired) revenue recognition (ASC 606), cost accounting/capitalization, and intercompany under corporate standards set by the CAO and aligned with Corporate Controllership and external auditor (PwC). 
  • Purchase accounting & integration. Drive purchase accounting for any acquisitions (opening balance sheets, identification of intangibles, and post-acquisition true-ups in partnership with the technical accounting lead and Corporate Controller. 
  • Systems & controls. Onboard and support the integration of acquired businesses onto TNC’s ERP and finance systems (e.g., NetSuite), processes, retiring legacy tools and disparate processes; ensure the division’s data, documentation, and processes are audit-ready and can withstand robust requirement. 
  • Elevation of company financial reporting. Support SOX / ICFR implementation and public-company-like reporting discipline and timelines for the segment through the transition to TNC standards and culture. 

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting / controllership experience, including a senior accounting leadership role (Controller, Assistant Controller, or divisional controllership). 
  • Strong technical accounting foundation under US GAAP — revenue recognition for services, professional services, project-based businesses (ASC 606). 
  • Demonstrated experience in a multi-entity, acquisitive environment integrating acquired businesses onto common systems, policies, and controls. 
  • Ownership of month-end close and consolidation into a corporate parent. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. 

Preferred Experience

  • CPA (strongly preferred); Big 4 grounding. 
  • Early stage company through IPO experience, including SOX / ICFR implementation and public-company readiness. 
  • Hands-on ERP transition / migration experience (NetSuite preferred). 
  • Familiarity with nuclear, utilities, or highly regulated industrial sectors.

Estimated Starting Salary Range
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $178,000 - $204,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
