Description :
The Director, Operations Finance is a key leader responsible for driving strategic financial oversight of global manufacturing operations. This includes end-to-end cost accounting, inventory control, standard costing, and operational performance. This role partners closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Global Finance teams to ensure financial rigor, improve processes, and deliver operational excellence across the organization. The Director will also be a key contributor to the company’s long-term financial strategy and transformation efforts.
The position will be based in Montmorency, in France.
You will have the following job responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership- Serve as a strategic advisor to the VP Global Operations Finance leader based in the US and executive team on all matters related to operational finance.
- Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies to optimize cost structures and support business objectives.
- Actively participate in finance leadership meetings and initiatives.
- Oversee cost accounting processes, including standard cost setting, cost roll-ups, and cost variance analysis.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of COGS and inventory transactions across Balt International, Balt Extrusion & CEVA.
- Drive financial governance and accountability across operations, ensuring compliance with internal policies, IFRS/US GAAP, and SOX requirements.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial Finance to drive margin improvement, cost efficiency, and ROI on manufacturing initiatives.
- Lead efforts to improve inventory management, cycle count programs, and physical inventory audits across global sites.
- Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning processes for Operations.
- Develop and deliver financial insights and dashboards that enable data-driven decisions.
- Analyze and communicate product and plant-level profitability, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Champion process excellence and automation of financial operations using ERP and data warehouse tools.
- Drive continuous improvement by standardizing costing practices and reporting frameworks across regions.
- Lead or sponsor transformation initiatives related to supply chain finance and operational analytics.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing operations finance team.
- Foster a collaborative, agile, and performance-oriented culture aligned with company values.
Qualification Requirements :
- Strong command of cost accounting, inventory management and operational finance, best practices.
- Ability to translate business needs into financial actions plans.
- Proven ability lead cross-functional initiatives and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Advanced Excel, financial modeling, and data analytics experience; experience with ERP systems (Sage X3 preferred); data warehousing/ETL experience a plus.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree or CPA/CMA is preferred.
- Over 10 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- International experience with a proven track record of success in complex, matrixed organizations.
