This role oversees how training plans are developed, executed, measured, and improved across all training centers to support safe, reliable operations during steady state, during labor disruptions and other contingency events. Serving as the central projects and controls function for Technical Training, the role enables transparency, accountability, continuous improvement, and data driven decision making through standardized governance, metrics, reporting, and performance management, including oversight of special initiatives such as work continuity.
Essential Functions

  • Provide enterprise governance and controls for Technical Training planning and execution, with an initial primary focus on work continuity, ensuring alignment, consistency, compliance, and operational readiness across all training centers.
  • Oversee the planning, review, approval, and execution of work continuity training plans, serving as the single point of accountability for training readiness.
  • Establish and maintain standardized governance frameworks for steady state and contingency training plan builds, execution, and change management, including defined standards, decision rights, escalation paths, and control mechanisms.
  • Serve as the projects and controls lead for work continuity initiatives by providing insights into schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, and corrective actions.
  • Define, monitor, and report KPIs and readiness metrics related to training capacity, qualification coverage, execution performance, and plan adherence; deliver routine dashboards and executive level status reporting.
  • Identify, prioritize, and oversee continuous improvement opportunities across training programs, governance processes, and execution models; ensure improvements are tracked, implemented, and measured for effectiveness.
  • Assess enterprise training needs related to work continuity and recommend data driven solutions to address gaps, inefficiencies, capacity constraints, and execution risks.
  • Provide guidance to leaders, training managers, and employees on work continuity execution, governance expectations, metrics, and reporting standards.
  • Partner with key stakeholders internally and externally to ensure visibility, alignment, and accountability for training plans and operator qualifications, project status, risks, and outcomes.
  • Monitor adherence to approved plans and controls, initiate corrective actions for variances, and incorporate lessons learned into future planning cycles.
  • Support and provide oversights of other projects and training initiatives from a readiness perspective including the planning, development of content, and delivery of training.

Required Qualifications For Position

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of: All Construction and Field Ops. Covered tasks and related activities.
  • A strong knowledge of Federal Code related to O&M and P&P requirements as well as State expectations, Processes, or mandates (formal or informal), across the NI footprint, and a general understanding of the IT links needed to integrate the QA/QC and OQ Skill Evaluation data bases into a comprehensive information system.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in an operations department
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and compliance issues
  • Familiarity with common computer applications (i.e. MS Office)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Company budgeting processes and systems
  • Knowledge of Company policies and procedures relative to operations
  • Demonstrated competency in budget origination, management and forecasting
  • Working knowledge of NiSource policies, procedures and standards
  • Knowledge of gas utility infrastructure
  • Valid Motor Vehicle License Upon Hire
  • Ability to travel estimated 35%

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

  • Engineering and Operations proficiency gained through previous experience
  • Thorough knowledge of NiSource compliance and safety issues
  • Proficiency in budgeting & forecasting

Salary Range*:

$160,100.00 - $240,100.00

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
