Responsibilities

What you'll be able to do:

Dir, System Integration & QA - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Palo Alto, California). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite. Lead high-performing QA, System Integration and System Engineering teams responsible for the development of IVI systems for a transformative new line of Electric Vehicles. Integrate and test high performance compute and real-time software stacks. Apply system engineering to design, develop, and deploy production quality software. Build prototypes to prove out design concepts. Productize proof of concepts. Drive cross-functional projects to ensure on-time delivery. Debug and solve ambiguous problems ranging from component to system level. Ensure teams working on the in-vehicle infotainment system successfully collaborate to produce a system that works end-to-end. Define automated testing and integration testing processes. Define software release processes. Define and drive the system integration and QA strategies and roadmap for IVI system quality, ensuring alignment with Ford's long-term goals and vision for electric vehicles. Provide mentorship and career development opportunities to engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Manage project timelines, priorities, and resources to ensure successful, on-time delivery of IVI solutions. Champion best practices in software development, including code quality, security, and performance optimization. Domestic Travel Required up to 5%. 

Qualifications

You'll have…

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and 10 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.   10 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:  1. Lead execution of end-to-end software integration and debugging using software-in-the-loop (SIL) or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems to identify any bugs, issues or unexpected behavior and validate functionality according to defined requirements to produce production quality software. 2. Collaborate and develop features cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration of complex sub-systems.  6 years of experience with the following skill is required:  1. Manage complex projects using Agile methodology and tools including JIRA, TestRail, JAMA, or DOORS to ensure on-time delivery and launch.  5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:  1. Develop and integrate components of software defined vehicle architectures to deliver advanced infotainment software for modern EVs. 2. Debug and troubleshoot infotainment embedded software using tools including TRACE32, Wireshark, ADB, CANalyzer, and IDEs including Eclipse to understand and address software bugs and issues.  4 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Bootstrap, build and lead automotive software integration teams to design, test, and integrate software features and platform stability and performance. 2. Design and implement automated test suites for functional and performance aspects of software using scripting languages including Python and frameworks including Appium and custom test bench setup to increase quality in software with reduced resources and human error.

We are offering a salary of $282,880.00 - $323,662.56/yr.
