We are currently seeking a Dir – Product Management, Customer Insights to join our Streaming Product & Operations team based in our New York, New York Headquarters

JOB SUMMARY
AMC Networks is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Product Management to lead the development and evolution of our Customer Insights and Data Products team. This role involves driving the strategic direction, execution, and performance of our data-driven products while delivering and scaling innovative personalized experiences for brands.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Strategy and Vision

  • Help develop and articulate the product vision and strategy for AMC and digital streaming products, ensuring alignment with company goals
  • Builds a strong team environment of innovation. Energizes an organization and builds management and cross functional support for the product line vision
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and trends in the streaming industry
  • Comfortable articulating industry best practices and working collaboratively with a team to guide them through these processes
  • Define and prioritize product features and enhancements based on customer needs, business objectives, and market dynamics

Product Roadmap and Execution

  • Create and maintain a detailed product roadmap, ensuring alignment with the overall product strategy
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and content teams to deliver high-quality product releases on time and within budget
  • Manage the product development lifecycle from concept to launch, including requirements gathering, prioritization, and project management 
  • Manage product deliveries and timelines to minimize delays and achieve the highest possible velocity for the development team, while maintaining the integrity of the delivered product

User Experience and Customer Insights

  • Collaborate closely with business and technology stakeholders to manage Customer Insights and Data Product roadmap, to inform product optimization opportunities on AMCN’s portfolio of brands. Help product teams understand data findings and champion a culture of data driven decision making to improve the customer experience
  • Champion the user experience by conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering feedback to inform product decisions
  • Analyze user data and metrics to measure product performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Work closely with customer support, user research and marketing teams to understand customer pain points and address them effectively 

Stakeholder Management and Communication

  • Manage production needs within the team and prioritize business-as-usual work to ensure a smoothly functioning production environment
  • Communicate all urgent issues to leadership with clearly defined evaluation of root causes, solutions, timelines, and business impact
  • Work with outside partners as needed to maintain 3rd party-supported systems, report issues, and communicate business needs. Maintain relationships and negotiate with 3rd parties regarding business objectives as required
  • Manages professionals at the manager and professional levels. Assigns and enforces decision authority at appropriate levels. Creates a strong team environment and ensures collaboration across teams
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all product-related matters, ensuring clear and consistent communication with stakeholders
  • Present product updates, roadmaps, and performance metrics to senior leadership and other key stakeholders
  • Foster a collaborative and transparent environment across teams to ensure successful product delivery

QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree 
  • 10 years of relevant work experience in product management, with 3-5 years in a product management leadership role
  • Proven track record of successfully managing the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch on multiple platforms
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making
  • Knows that owning KPIs is key to leading products successfully – and has proven track record enabling teams to own their data and keep stakeholders informed
  • Experience with designing and implementing A/B and multivariate test cases to identify optimization opportunities. Helped teams create hypotheses based on user behavior, funnel analysis, and other data insights, proposes tests to improve conversion and engagement metrics 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and tools such as Jira or Trello
  • Passion for digital media and entertainment, with a keen interest in the latest industry trends and innovations
  • Great communicator and writer. Creates appropriate lines of communication up, down and across the organization. Reapplies process improvements from one team to another
  • Strategic problem solver
  • Independent and highly productive, driving and promoting meaningful innovation
  • Excellent grasp of basic computer science principles
  • General knowledge of modern development technologies 
  • Experience with backend services that support and empower a wide array of platforms, particularly 
  • to launch and manage personalization and experimentation campaigns. 
  • Understanding of personalization and experimentation strategies, uses of algorithms and GenAI
  • Management of dependencies such as profile data and taxonomy systems
  • Expertise in managing algorithms like reinforcement learning or collaborative filtering to deliver value through personalized experiences

The base compensation range for this position is $175,000 to $200,000 commensurate with experience. AMC Networks additionally offers a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Paid Time Off, Paid Parental Leave and Adoption Services, among other benefit plan options, subject to eligibility requirements.
