Job Overview:

The Director of Finance Operations, Horizon will be responsible for leading financial planning, operational finance, performance reporting, accounting and business analysis for the Horizon business unit. This leader will partner closely with operations, sales, supply chain, and corporate finance and accounting teams to improve profitability, strengthen forecasting and controls, support strategic decision-making, perform monthly closes and align Horizon’s financial execution with the broader objectives of Leslie’s, Inc.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Horizon leadership to develop and execute financial strategies that support revenue growth, margin expansion, and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as a key finance advisor to business leaders, translating financial insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, optimize resource allocation, and strengthen financial performance across Horizon.
  • Align Horizon’s finance operations with Leslie’s systems, reporting standards, controls, and transformation programs.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, monthly close analysis, and financial performance reviews for Horizon operations.
  • Manage operating expense analysis, capital planning, and financial modeling with a strong focus on margin improvement and cost control.
  • Provide financial support for supply chain, inventory, pricing, and branch initiatives to improve working capital and operational efficiency.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance operations team that delivers accurate, timely, and actionable insights.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and strong financial stewardship.
  • Champion process discipline, talent development, and cross-functional partnership across the organization.
  • Develop, maintain, and perform financial reporting dashboards, KPIs, and variance analysis to support business performance management.
  • Perform procedures necessary to timely close the accounting records for Horizon and provide reporting to the Support Center accounting function
  • Support commercial and operational initiatives through pricing analysis, customer profitability insights, and investment business cases.
  • Monitor market trends, customer demand, inventory performance, and cost drivers to inform proactive financial recommendations.
  • Leverage digital tools and data analytics to improve forecasting accuracy, decision-making, and financial transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive finance, FP&A, accounting, or operational finance experience, ideally in distribution, B2B wholesale, retail, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of financial planning, forecasting, performance management, and business partnership.
  • Strong understanding of operational disciplines including supply chain, sales, inventory, branch operations, and gross margin management.
  • Ability to lead through influence and collaboration in a matrixed corporate structure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required; MBA, CPA, or advanced degree preferred.
  • Strategic finance leader with strong business acumen
  • Analytical and data-driven, with a focus on results, accuracy, and accountability
  • Collaborative partner who builds trust and influences cross-functional teams
  • Process-oriented and continuous improvement minded
  • Comfortable managing complexity in a fast-paced, evolving industry
