The ideal candidate will be responsible for correlation/linearity studies, dimensional report creation, statistical process control analysis, gauge and fixture design, set-up and qualification, design change recommendations and proposals, and control plan creation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To grow our team in Detroit, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dimensional Quality Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for correlation/linearity studies, dimensional report creation, statistical process control analysis, gauge and fixture design, set-up and qualification, design change recommendations and proposals, and control plan creation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review part and assembly data using data collection software (Polyworks) by reviewing design requirements and support with tolerance reviews and creation of dimensional reports.
- Prepare presentations summarizing results, findings and next steps.
- Communicate between cross-functional teams to drive dimensional quality improvements, completing root cause analysis and providing corrective and preventative actions.
- Support new product launches, continuous improvement initiatives, and troubleshooting related to dimensional quality engineering responsibilities.
- Support with risk assessment and mitigation activities by anticipating potential problems and implementing preventative actions.
- Contribute to root cause analysis process by reviewing, auditing and collecting information on manufacturing processes, design specifications, quality system, and detection methods.
- Create and train new dimensional quality processes and detection methods.
- Support manufacturing control plan and PFMEA creation and improvements developing dimensional control plan definition, execution and implementation.
- Conduct and analyze Gauge R&R tests on various measuring equipment.
- Oversee new measurement equipment validations and lead new measurement equipment initiatives to meet dimensional standards.
- Update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward all lessons learned from quality concerns.
- Ensure KPIs are met by working to the overall plan.
- Report out on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
- Adhere to workplace safety regulations.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or other related field.
- GD&T certification.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in dimensional testing and analysis in the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Experience with Polyworks software and laser scanning.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
- Experienced problem solver and team builder.
- Experience developing processes and dimensional specifications.
- Proven experience dealing with customers and suppliers.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field
- GD&T certification
- At least 3 years of experience in dimensional testing and analysis within automotive manufacturing
- Experience with PolyWorks software and laser scanning
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
