Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Northridge, CA is currently seeking a Level 2 or 3 Digital Transformation Manufacturing Engineer to support various programs under Advanced Weapons Systems.
As a member of the Digital transformation development team, you will define, develop, implement, and transition technology and solutions to enable manufacturing digital thread and help drive manufacturing to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality. These technologies include Augmented Reality (AR), Teamcenter Easy (MBOM, Bill of Process (BOP), and Process Simulate), Dynamic Production Scheduling, SAP S4, and other digital tools as required. The ME will use advanced knowledge of industrial/manufacturing engineering fundamentals to help Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. The digital transformation manufacturing engineer shall influence the development of NGDS’s next generation of Defense products by supporting operational digital tools/system development, define interface requirements, transition-to-production (TTP) plans, and sustainment activities. This individual will work closely with the Chief Information and Data Office (CIDO, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, IPT Lead, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations to ensure digital tools support producibility, scalability, and lean manufacturing initiatives to meet the program targets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and/or supports key operational excellence plans in a fast-paced environment.
- Drive development and execution of test cases/scripts for PLM, MES, and ERP system testing/validation
- Drive and support development Augmented Reality (AR), Teamcenter Easy (MBOM, Bill of Process (BOP), and Process Simulate), Dynamic Production Scheduling, SAP S4, and other digital tools as required
- Interface with internal and external customers, program offices, engineering disciplines, and executive management to ensure cross-functional commitments support project schedule
- Support requirements, development, and TTP of Analytics metrics/dashboards.
- The role requires the incorporation of requirements into development and transition-to-production (TTP) plans, along with evaluation of process performance and tools to verify their efficiency
- Provides input for identification and planning of department goals and budget, development, standardization, and implementation of initiatives intended to improve the quality, cost and delivery performance.
- Supports productivity, quality, process efficiency, space utilization, standardization and lead time improvement efforts.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Level 2:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 2 or more years' experience in Manufacturing, Industrial, or equivalent engineering ; OR 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Work knowledge of Teamcenter Unified Architecture (TcUA), SAP or Costpoint ERP, and Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Strong Microsoft Project, Excel, and Powerpoint skills for schedule/IMS and presentation to sensor leadership
- Strong analytical and data management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to obtain Government SECRET security clearance (US Citizenship Required)
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal level 3:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5 or more years' experience in Manufacturing, Industrial, or equivalent engineering ; OR 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Work knowledge of Teamcenter Unified Architecture (TcUA), SAP or Costpoint ERP, and Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Strong Microsoft Project, Excel, and Powerpoint skills for schedule/IMS and presentation to sensor leadership
- Strong analytical and data management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
