Summary

Deliver the development and implementation of systems and programs to support the business functions of Daiichi Sankyo (DS) in the US, EU, Japan, and other global sites. Develop a strong, positive strategic business partnership with various business functions of Daiichi Sankyo. As a trusted partner, provide oversight of business demand to balance IT portfolio and to ensure that partners receive the highest possible business value, while subscribing to the enterprise IT strategy.
Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership, Platform management and Governance:

  • Implement and lead the global strategy for process automation, RPA, and low-code/no-code platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Oversee and evolve Center of Excellence (CoE) for automation, setting governance policies, best practices, and security standards
  • Drive adoption of low code automation platforms (UI Path, Power Platform and others), ensuring scalability, governance, and integration with enterprise systems
  • Promote a culture of Kaizen (continuous improvement) and innovation, aligning with Japanese & other global work principles
  • Implement and continuously improve framework for citizen development, empowering business users to create automation solutions within a controlled governance model

Intelligent Process Automation & RPA Implementation:

  • Lead the deployment and optimization of RPA solutions using UI Path and other automation technologies across business functions
  • Implement automation of workflows to drive intelligent decision-making, and self-learning systems
  • Oversee process mining and discovery initiatives to identify high-impact automation opportunities
  • Ensure seamless integration of automation solutions with ERP, HR, finance, supply chain, and collaboration platforms
  • Collaborate closely with regional & global teams to gather insights, ensuring automation solutions are tailored to local needs while maintaining global standards

Citizen Development & Low-Code Application Platforms:

  • Provide an oversight for global citizen development initiative as per existing strategy document providing governance, training, and toolkits for business users to build automation solutions
  • Oversee the adoption and governance of low-code/no-code application platforms like Microsoft Power Platform, UI Path Apps, Appian and others
  • Foster a self-service automation culture, enabling employees to create workflow automation
  • Collaborate with security, infra & data teams to ensure controlled, scalable, and compliant citizen development practices

Budget Management, Change Management & Adoption:

  • Oversee budget planning and allocation for automation initiatives, ensuring cost-effective investments with measurable ROI
  • Drive organizational change management (OCM) to ensure successful adoption of automation, RPA, and low-code platforms
  • Develop training programs, knowledge-sharing sessions, and certification pathways to upskill employees in automation technologies

Performance Monitoring, Continuous Improvement & Knowledgebase

  • Define KPIs and success metrics to measure the impact of automation, including efficiency gains, cost savings, and user adoption rates
  • Define and execute a strategic roadmap for adopting new technologies, ensuring alignment with business goals and evolving industry trends
  • Implement strategies to retain critical knowledge in-house, reducing dependency on external vendors and ensuring long-term sustainability of automation initiatives

People Management

Leadership role overseeing employees from Japan, the U.S., and other countries, setting goals, defining objectives, and conducting year-end assessments. Responsible for managing and mentoring a team of junior staff, on-site and offshore consultants, providing guidance, technical feedback, and fostering a collaborative, multicultural work environment.

Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field required

Experience Qualifications

  • At least 10+ years of experience in process automation, RPA, AI-driven automation, and low-code platforms, leading global digital transformation initiatives
  • Expertise in UI Path, Microsoft Power Platform, and other automation tools, driving large-scale workflow optimization, AI integration, and process mining
  • Proven global people management experience, especially in Japan and other countries, is a must.
  • Experience in budget management, vendor negotiations, and ROI-driven technology investments, ensuring cost-effective and sustainable automation programs
  • Strong leadership in cross-functional collaboration, working with regional teams, IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors
  • Experience in working within the framework of SDLC, SIAM
  • Relevant certifications in automation and low-code platforms are a plus, such as UiPath Certified Professional, Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect and Appian Certified Developer

Travel Ability

to travel up to 10% Travel to DSPD, DSD, DSE, DST locations which will include overnight travel. Ability to travel to US, EU and Japan.
