PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE is currently seeking applications for the position of Digital Support Specialist in Westport on a full-time permanent basis reporting to the Digital Services Engineering Manager. JOB SUMMARY:
- Provide technical support for our PHP-based customer eCommerce solution.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues reported by customers and colleagues.
- Collaborate with the development team to escalate and resolve complex problems.
- Assist customers with inquiries related to system functionality, configuration, and integrations.
- Document solutions, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides for internal and customer use.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to and resolve support tickets in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address incidents.
- Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to enhance the platform.
- Provide training or guidance to customers on effectively using the eCommerce solution.
- Ensure excellent communication and customer satisfaction throughout the support process.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Good knowledge of PHP/Laravel and experience with web-based applications.
- Familiarity with eCommerce platforms and related technologies
- Basic understanding of databases (e.g., MySQL) and troubleshooting SQL queries.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with customers.
- Experience in a technical support role or similar customer-facing position.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Familiarity with Codeigniter, Laravel or other PHP frameworks.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Understanding of server management, hosting environments, or basic DevOps.
- Experience with support ticket systems
