We’re seeking a Director, Digital Strategy with a deep pulse on the digital landscape, someone who thinks audience-first, who knows that no single message or channel fits all, and designs tailored campaigns that meet people where they are. This strategist brings curiosity, creativity, and data-driven thinking to every project, using digital as a strategic tool to build meaningful customer journeys and deliver measurable impact.

In this role, you will develop integrated, audience-centered digital strategies across channels, platforms, and content formats. You’ll blend strategic thinking, creative insight, and analytical rigor to help clients reach the right audiences with the right message at the right time. You will partner closely with creative, media, and client teams to ensure every initiative is insight-driven and optimized for performance.

The ideal candidate has a versatile background in digital and social media, able to move seamlessly between strategist, creative, and project manager roles. This position reports directly to the SVP of Creative & Digital.

Preferred past experience includes:

  • A great eye for new trends and a drive for executing with speed
  • Experience working with new social platforms
  • Experience with Influencer Engagement
  • Experience with PR, Public Affairs and Corporate communications, 
  • Ability to partner with clients and the ability to translate their communication challenges into digital strategy
  • Media buying and placement
  • Knowledge in advertising platforms and exchanges such as DBM, DCM, Meta, and X
  • Experience with website management and best practices, including but not limited to tag deployment for paid campaigns, SEO, metrics and website user experience 

In this role, you’ll be instrumental in helping shape the direction of the firm, supporting the agency’s goals, and ensuring that your team continues to grow and evolve in alignment with client and market needs.

What you will be doing: 

  • Develop comprehensive digital strategies informed by audience insights, platform behavior, and client goals.
  • Identify the right mix of channels, messaging, content formats, and placements for each target audience.
  • Create audience journeys, communication frameworks, and campaign architectures.
  • Translate business challenges into actionable digital strategies that position clients for success.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to shape platform-specific content and messaging.
  • Ensure messaging is tailored to each audience persona and aligned with channel best practices.
  • Recommend formats, tones, and storytelling approaches that resonate across platforms.
  • Analyze campaign performance data to uncover insights and optimization opportunities.
  • Develop data-informed recommendations to improve reach, engagement, and conversion.
  • Monitor digital trends, platform shifts, and audience behavior changes to guide ongoing strategy.
  • Lead strategic thinking in new business proposals, including crafting digital strategies, audience journeys, and pitch narratives.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to team-wide digital best practices.
  • Collaborate with digital vendors to supplement ad campaigns, build websites, onboard advocacy tools, and more
  • Maintain client websites and social communities, including publishing social posts and advising on community management best practices 
  • Join client and internal meetings to drive creative digital thinking 
  • Stay ahead of emerging platforms, digital communication styles, content trends, and audience habits.
  • Bring proactive recommendations to clients and internal teams based on new opportunities in the digital ecosystem.

Position Expectations:  

  • Understanding of paid, owned, and earned media with experience across all social platforms
  • Strong project management skills, capable of onboarding, overseeing, and offboarding multiple digital projects and campaigns simultaneously 
  • Experience optimizing digital campaigns, including social community management and an understanding of the broader ecosystem
  • Strong skills in data analysis and navigating platforms such as Google Analytics, Twitter Analytics, and Facebook Insights. (Meltwater experience is a plus.) 
  • Ability to prepare and present client-ready analytics and metrics reporting, including distilled strategic insights. 
  • Experience with website management and best practices, including but not limited to  tag deployment for paid campaigns, SEO, metrics and  website user experience 
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

Qualifications/Required Skills:

  • Has 4-7 years of experience in social media strategy, content development, and digital storytelling. 
  • Leads the development of breakthrough social media and influencer campaigns that are insight-driven, visually compelling, and tailored to drive engagement, community growth, and brand storytelling.
  • Owns the full lifecycle of social content—from concepting and strategy through design and copy—delivering high-quality, platform-native content (including Reels, animations, carousels, and static posts).
  • Leads internal and client-facing social and influencer discussions, presents strategy and creative ideas with confidence, and ensures alignment between client objectives and social executions.
  • Develops and executes influencer strategies across a range of campaign types—leveraging tools like Klear to identify, vet, and engage the right creators across micro, mid-tier, and macro levels. Ensures influencer partnerships align with brand goals, platform strategy, and target audiences.
  • Thinks beyond trends and calendars to craft thumb-stopping campaigns that are original, culturally relevant, and on-brand. Proactively identifies opportunities for social innovation, creative storytelling, and influencer amplification.
  • Designs and writes social content that’s customized by platform and audience; has a strong understanding of how design, copy, and motion work together to tell a story.
  • Uses data and platform insights to inform both social and influencer strategies, iterate on content, and measure success. Fluent in analytics and able to turn metrics into meaningful creative recommendations.
  • Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Suite,  relevant design/motion tools; also experienced with social scheduling, listening, and influencer tools like Klear.
  • Mentors junior social talent, contributes to new business pitches, and plays a leadership role in evolving the agency’s social, influencer, and digital creative capabilities.

The salary range for this position is $88,300 - $127,200.
