Position Summary:

The Digital Rapid Response Director will manage a team of creative professionals developing content on various social media platforms for DNC properties (like @FactPostNews). You’re a good fit for this role if you’re politically savvy, adept at following the news, quick on your feet, experienced at managing and delegating projects, and have a strong understanding of what types of content perform well on each social media platform.

This is an in-person role based out of the DNC's office in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the DNC’s mobilization, communications and research teams to formulate and execute a smart, aggressive rapid response social media strategy
  • Propose and generate content hitting Republicans for their hypocrisy
  • When possible, use rapid response moments to drive a strong theory of change, empowering supporters to take action that will have an impact
  • Manage and project plan for a team of rapid response video editors, platforms strategists, and graphic designers.
  • Help ideate creative projects in line with our profile voice(s) and formats.
  • Follow the news and be able to identify good clips and content opportunities and execute on them.
  • Analyze social media content performance and help adapt strategy accordingly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3–4 years’ experience working in politics or a newsroom environment.
  • Experience creating and publishing social media content (ideally with a portfolio or examples!)
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; you should have an eagle-eye for typos and errors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Incredibly organized; able to prioritize multiple projects moving at different speeds in a deadline-driven environment. You have a keen sense of what preparations might be required for any situation and are proactive about making them happen.

Travel: The Digital Director of Rapid Response position will not require travel.

Salary: The starting salary for the Digital Director of Rapid Response position is $90,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
