UX/UI Designer
Position Overview:
As a UX/UI Designer at Newsweek, you will play a pivotal role in creating intuitive and engaging user experiences across our digital products. You will be responsible for the complete design process, from conducting product research to delivering final designs. Your expertise in tools like Figma, Miro, and Adobe Suite will be essential in bringing innovative ideas to life. Proficiency in Jira is a plus for managing design tasks and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct product research to inform design decisions and strategies.
- Synthesize data findings to create user-centered design solutions.
- Design and deliver high-quality UX/UI products in line with brand standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and editorial, to align on design goals and solutions.
- Present design concepts and proposals to stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback and testing.
- Ensure pixel-perfect execution of designs, focusing on typography, color theory, and overall visual aesthetics.
- Take projects from inception through to final delivery, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- Maintain a proactive approach, remaining self-sufficient while being open to guidance and feedback from leadership.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer or similar role, with 3-4 years of hands-on design experience.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Miro, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator; familiarity with Maze is a plus.
- Strong portfolio showcasing design projects, particularly in digital media and web applications.
- Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
- Ability to effectively communicate design concepts to non-design stakeholders.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborative environments.
- Proficiency in Jira for managing project tasks and collaborating effectively (a plus).
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while aligning with team objectives.
- Experience in a news company environment is a plus, but not required.
Salary range: $95,000 - $120,000
