Why This Role

  • You own Modulr’s voice and how we show day to day on owned and earned online channels, from a fast-moving LinkedIn trend in the morning to a considered pitch to an industry influencer in the afternoon.
  • You work closely with and learn from the Head of PR and Communications and the wider marketing team, on fast-moving campaigns and projects that make a real impact to the business
  • You get to build something genuinely new for us: how Modulr engages with brands and partners to help us improve AI visibility.

Who we are

Modulr is the payments automation platform that streamlines money movement with accuracy, control and reliability – built to scale. We process more than 200m transactions and over £180bn in payment value on an annualised basis, and we’re trusted by over 6,000 businesses from fast-growing SMEs to global enterprises.

We automate how money moves into and out of a business (payroll, supplier payments, spend management and payment collection) through a single platform, connected to the accounting and payroll systems finance teams already use, and underpinned by principal memberships of Visa and Mastercard and direct access to central bank infrastructure.

As a regulated payments provider with over a decade of experience, we’re the platform finance teams trust to run mission-critical operations. Modulr is backed by PayPal, FIS, General Atlantic, Blenheim Chalcot, Frog Capital and Highland Europe, with over 400 employees across London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam and Mumbai.

  • Media Relations – Build and maintain targeted media lists and pitch journalists, bloggers, and relevant trade publications, using databases such as Muck Rack or Roxhill.
  • Influencer & Partner Collaboration – Liaise with micro-influencers, brand advocates, and partners to amplify campaigns and extend our reach.
  • Coverage Monitoring – Track, clip and report on online brand mentions, features, and sentiment shifts.

  • Reporting – Compile weekly and monthly reports with actionable insights that refine future content and outreach.
  • AI Visibility – identify the brands and platforms worth working with to improve AI visibility.

Who you are

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in social media, digital PR/marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
  • An exceptional writer who can shift tone for the audience in front of you, from a snappy social caption to a professional media or influencer pitch.

  • You are comfortable with social scheduling and analytics tools such as Hubsot, Hootsuite, or Sprout Social, and basic design tools such as Canva, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with media monitoring tools like Meltwater or Cision is a plus.
  • A working understanding of SEO, Google Analytics, and native social analytics.
  • You are creative and quick-thinking, able to come up with fresh content fast and respond to online trends as they happen.

What We Do

Modulr has grown to become the leading provider of embedded payments to organisations across the UK and Europe. Embedded payments is a new category that permits payments to become part of organisations’ technology stack, upgrading them to become payments companies themselves. Modulr enables over 200 enterprise customers and thousands of SME customers to embed account creation, payment out, reconciliation of payment in, card issuing and many open banking and similar features into their own business process flows via API calls and webhooks into Modulr’s cloud platform. Core to Modulr’s success has been the platform itself, Modulr’s regulatory status as an EMI in the UK and Europe, its connections to payments and other financial service schemes, its ability to operate at scale, and its compliance rigour. Today Modulr handles over £100bn of annualised payment volume and its platform handles, on average, 30 API calls per second
