Inside the Role
The DMU Engineer leads the development and analysis of full-vehicle digital mock-ups, driving packaging feasibility, identifying design risks, and enabling early concept validation. This role plays a critical part in ensuring vehicle-level integration and readiness by proactively resolving issues early in the development process, leading cross-functional alignment across multiple engineering teams, and delivering high-quality, buildable truck designs. This role also is responsible for developing and maintaining the DMU team software tools and reports.Posting Information

- Lead and facilitate large cross-functional DMU/project meetings to drive alignment, track progress and ensure timely resolution of open issues with engineering teams, PVE, EPM and Quality teams.
- Perform vehicle packaging studies and feasibility analyses to support concept and early design phases
- Develop and continuously improve DMU processes, reports, tools, and workflows
- Create and manage component envelopes (e.g., tire, engine) to validate requirements
- Coordinate clash and clearance analysis to identify and mitigate design conflicts
- Support concept development and design validation through virtual modeling
- Report and communicate design issues, DMU BOMs, Shopcalls and resolution status
- Provide virtual vehicle layouts and visualization for engineering decision-making ,design reviews and sales/customer support initiatives
Knowledge You Should Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience in automotive engineering
- Experience with 3D CAD tool NX
- Proficiency with Data visualization and analytics tools: PowerBI, Tableau and SQL
- Proficiency with programing macros in VBA language
- Ability to conduct automotive design reviews
- Solid understanding of engineering and upstream and downstream processes required
- Ability to work on-site at least four days per week

- Demonstrated strong verbal. written and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines required
- Familiarity with AI-driven tools or automation techniques to support data analysis and process improvement
- Experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis, 8D, or similar) to resolve complex engineering and integration issues
- Strong experience leading cross-functional meetings and driving discussions with diverse engineering stakeholders, including effective communication, issue tracking, and decision facilitation.
Understanding of:
- Vehicle systems and packaging
- Engineering design processes
- Bills of Material (BOMs) and CAD data integration
- Ability to perform feasibility studies and design validation using digital models
