JOB SUMMARY  

 

The Digital Media Strategist serves as the creative and technical lead for developing and managing digital content across platforms for the Barnett College of Ministry and Theology (BCMT). This role supports the college’s mission by crafting compelling, high-quality media that advances theological education and public engagement through digital storytelling, online learning, and social media.

 


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS 

 

Reports to: Dean, Barnett College of Ministry and Theology

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but is not limited to the following: 

 


eCourse Production


  • Collaborate with faculty to develop external-facing ecourses
  • Create course content that ensures consistency in branding, tone, and theological integrity across all digital materials
  • Film, edit, and finalize ecourses for the LearnWorlds platform


Digital Media Creation & Storytelling


  • Create and produce unique video content for each of BCMT’s theological programs
  • Lead creative projects in digital storytelling to promote BCMT’s mission and distinctives
  • Film and edit classroom sessions, lectures, and special events


Social Media & Public Engagement

  • Manage BCMT’s YouTube channel: publishing content, curating playlists, tracking analytics
  • Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with BCMT's goals
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and marketing to promote events, courses, and
    stories

 

Content Management

  • Develop and manage LearnWorlds platform with external content
  • Populate and manage the internal LMS (Learning Management System) with course materials and media
  • Ensure timely updates and accuracy of all digital content

 

ADDITIONAL/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

 

All remaining duties are considered "nonessential" within the context of the ADA, which means that the function could be reassigned to another employee in order to allow a disabled individual to hold the position.  Alternatively, the manager could try to provide a reasonable accommodation so that the disabled individual could perform the function.

EDUCATION   

 

Required Education:


Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, education, information technology or digital learning


Preferred Education:


Master’s Degree in business, marketing, education, information technology or digital learning

EXPERIENCE 

 

Required:


  • Experience working in an academic or ministry context
  • Familiarity with YouTube Studio, Meta Business Suite, and SEO principles

  • Proficiency in video production, editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro), and basic audio editing

  • Strong storytelling instincts with a sensitivity to theological nuance
  • Understanding of digital media trends and social media management
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and with faculty
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Commitment to the mission of BCMT and theological education

WORK ENVIRONMENT

TRAINING

All new hires and employees transferring into a new position will have a 90-day probationary period within which to learn the functions of the job and to be evaluated. Following the probationary period, the employee can transition to regular status, have the probationary period extended in order to receive more training, or employment can be terminated.   • Emergency Employees report for or must remain at work in emergency situations.  Dismissal or closure announcements do not apply to this position, unless instructed otherwise by your direct supervisor or a member of the Leadership Team.  

 

SCREENING

All full-time positions at SEU are deemed security-sensitive and require background checks. Employees required to drive their own personal vehicle, a rental car or an SEU vehicle in performance of their duties must pass an MVR records check and meet the requirements of the University’s insurance carrier in order to meet the requirements of the position.
