Job Description:

The Digital Media Analyst will lead social media strategies for Mars Mexico and Better Cities for Pets, while also supporting strategic external communication initiatives that enhance the One Mars reputation, particularly through sustainability-focused volunteering activities by developing partnerships and initiatives, driving participation. This role will ensure that the Mars’ digital presence, including segment-specific and culture-driven initiatives, aligns with corporate key messages and global guidelines. Additionally, the coordinator will providing comprehensive reporting that allow us to learn and stay relevant.

What are we looking for?

  • Proficient in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok.) and social media management tools (Meta Business & Sprinklr). Additional channels to leverage on are YouTube and Spotify.

  • Skilled in content creation and visual storytelling for social media platforms.

  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices and volunteer coordination.

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in social media metrics and reporting.

  • Ability to influence and collaborate across teams to drive initiatives forward.

  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Communications, Marketing, or related field).

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Develop and implement local social media strategies to promote One Mars' initiatives, campaigns, activities, business news, and brands’ innovations.

  • Manage and create engaging content for social media platforms (web site, FB, IG, X, TikTok, Spotify, YT, LinkedIn).

  • Align social media messaging with corporate guidelines and objectives.

  • Leverage on Associates as Mars’s ambassadors/ influencers.

  • Monitor social media channels for engagement and feedback, responding promptly to inquiries and comments.

  • Track social media performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to maximize reach and engagement.

  • Stay up to date with social media trends and ensure Mars’ channels are innovative and aligned with best practices.

  • As required, negotiate with Essence Mediacom investment to amplify key content.

  • Support LTs members to help them improve their digital footprint promoting their visible leadership and engagement in LinkedIn.

  • In Better Cities for Pets, the partnership with the Public Affairs manager and Mars’ animal welfare advisors will be relevant to make real content, based on science, but also approachable and relevant to pet parents to continue driving education, public policies and pet-friendly cities. The social channels are FB, IG and Spotify. Monitoring, reach, engagement and tracking media trends also apply to this channel.

  • Sustainability-focused Volunteering Coordination

  • Lead Mars’ SiG Plan (Sustainable in a Generation) volunteering, working with local teams to identify and execute volunteer opportunities.

  • Partner with organizations and local champions to implement initiatives focused on sustainability and the environment.

  • Coordinate logistics for volunteer event, including recruitment, communication, and execution of activities.

  • Promote and communicate internally and externally, encouraging Associates’ participation and involvement.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local environmental organizations, One Mars team and other key stakeholders.

  • Track volunteer participation and impact, providing updates and reports on results.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration & Reporting

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Corporate Affairs, Marketing, P&O, Employer Reputation and agencies) to integrate environmental and social media activities with broader company goals.

  • Ensure consistency of messages related to sustainability and volunteer initiatives across all platforms.

  • Provide regular updates and reports on social media performance and volunteer program impact to leadership teams.

  • Mission Critical Competencies

  • Strong communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal) in Spanish and English.

  • Strong understanding of social media trends and tools.

  • Planning, project management (follow up skills)

  • Creative digital skills

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously.

  • Problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to challenges.

  • Interest in sustainability.

  • Ability to engage and motivate employees and volunteers.

  • Key Experiences

  • Experience in social media management, communication, or digital marketing.

  • Prior experience leading or coordinating events.

  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders.

  • Experience in creating and executing content strategies for social media channels.

  • Demonstrated interest or involvement in environmental or sustainability initiatives.

  • Lead and execute social media strategies for Mars Mexico and Better Cities for Pets, ensuring alignment with brand and corporate objectives.

  • Coordinate environmental volunteer activities, providing recommendations for improvements and measuring impact.

  • Implement communication plans for environmental initiatives and social media activities, providing visibility on results to internal teams.

  • Proactively suggest new opportunities to improve Mars' reputation in social media and sustainability.
