SUMMARY:   

 The Digital Marketing Specialist plays a key role in developing and executing digital strategies that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and store growth. This position manages digital campaigns across multiple platforms, creative content, website content, and analyzes results to make informed recommendations. The role requires independent judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to align marketing initiatives with business goals.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and execute digital marketing strategies to support company objectives, including sales growth and community engagement.
  • Create and manage content across social media, email, website, and online advertising platforms.
  • Monitor performance metrics, prepare reports, and make data-driven recommendations to optimize campaigns.
  • Maintain the company website with timely updates on products, promotions, and events.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all digital platforms.
  • Research digital trends, competitor activity, and emerging tools to strengthen company presence.
  • Collaborate with merchandising team to align digital marketing efforts with in-store promotions and seasonal initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure marketing strategies support broader business objectives.
  • Engage in interviewing and working with store associates, customers, and community members to gather content, testimonials, and stories that support digital campaigns. Demonstrates ethical conduct and maintains credibility.

    1. Work in a safe manner to protect yourself, your co-workers and others who may be affected by your actions.
    2. Work together on exercising prevention methods to minimize injury or loss.  Suggest solutions to mitigate hazards.

OTHER FUNCTIONS: 

  •  Support community events and partnerships by leveraging digital platforms to increase visibility and participation.
  • Oversee photography, video, and creative assets for campaigns.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

  • Generally, works Monday through Friday, Weekends as needed for workshops, classes, and events.
  • Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Must work 40 hours each week.

 LOCATION:

  • The location for this position is Honolulu, HI.

 TRAVEL:

  • This position requires travel to stores (local, neighbor island, domestic and international travel, etc.) to meet desired objectives.

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • This position does not have any supervisory expectations. 
  • This position can serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department and company.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Equipment/Tools Used: Intranet, Internet, MS Office Suite, Google Suite, Social Media Platforms, Email Marketing software, Analytics and Advertising, Website Management software, Photography/Videography equipment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 
  • Work Environment: Works under regular office conditions. Occasional exposure to heat and dust, hazardous equipment (box, openers, scissors, staplers, paper cutter), and supplies (ink, glues, chemicals, paint, etc.) 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to sit and work at a computer for extended periods. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs. (e.g., equipment for events, photo shoots).
  • This role also engages in our store environment, 
  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: 

  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, including social media, email, SEO/SEM, and paid advertising.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends, best practices, and emerging digital platforms.
  • Skill in content creation, including writing, graphic design, and basic photography/videography.
  • Skill in analyzing data, interpreting metrics, and preparing actionable reports.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make strategic decisions that align with business goals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal teams, vendors, and community partners.
  • Ability to maintain brand consistency across platforms and adapt messaging across different audiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively with leadership, store teams, and external partners while also working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in priorities, platforms, or business needs.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred or a minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in digital marketing or a related field in lieu of a bachelor's deg
  • Demonstrated ability to manage campaigns independently and present results to leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of social media management, email marketing, SEO/SEM, and digital analytics.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, and website content management systems.
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or 3+ years of professional experience in digital marketing or a related field in lieu of a degree
  • Ability to manage digital marketing campaigns independently and present results to leadership
  • Strong knowledge of social media management, email marketing, SEO/SEM, and digital analytics
