POSITION SUMMARY:
The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for executing and managing YMCA marketing efforts across email, website, and digital platforms. This role ensures timely, accurate, and strategic deployment of content and campaigns that drive engagement, participation, and conversion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Email Marketing
- Own the build, scheduling, and deployment of association-wide emails, newsletters, and internal communications
- Ensure accuracy, segmentation, and timely delivery of all email communication
- Maintain and manage the master email calendar
Website Management
- Maintain website content, ensuring accuracy, usability, and alignment with marketing campaigns
- Support landing page updates and optimization for campaign performance
Social Media
- Create day-to-day program and promotional content based on input from marketing managers, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with YMCA brand standards
- Schedule content across platforms using Loomly (or similar tool)
- Coordinate posting timelines with Content Strategist
Digital Performance & Optimization
- Support conversion goals for membership, programs, and registrations
- Monitor and optimize email performance (open rates, click-throughs, conversions)
- Assist in improving user experience across website and landing pages
Analytics & Reporting
- Track basic performance metrics (email, web traffic, engagement)
- Assist with Google Analytics and reporting as needed
Brand & Collaboration
- Maintain YMCA brand standards and ensure consistency across all platforms
- Serve as a central resource for branch staff with access to local social media channels, providing guidance, support, and content recommendations to enhance engagement and effectiveness
- Monitor branch-level social media activity for consistency, quality, and adherence to established guidelines
- Collaborate closely with the marketing team to ensure alignment and execution of creative vision
- Foster a sense of community through content by promoting inclusivity and participation among all demographics
Organization & Asset Management
- Maintain files in an organized and logical manner using the YMCA’s digital asset management system
- Ensure content and assets are easily accessible for team collaboration
Additional Expectations
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Work occasional evenings and weekends for events, program coverage, and time-sensitive communications (including inclement weather updates)

KNOW HOW/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Marketing, Marketing or a related field is required (or equivilant experience).
- One to three (1–3) years of experience in digital marketing, content execution, and campaign management; nonprofit or community-focused experience preferred
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with close attention to detail
- Experience executing content across digital platforms, including email, website, and social media
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok) and best practices for posts, stories, and short-form video
- Ability to identify and implement social media trends in a timely, brand-aligned way
- Proficiency in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with social media scheduling tools (e.g., Loomly)
- Experience with email marketing platforms and website content management systems
- Familiarity with Google Analytics; experience with Google Tag Manager preferred
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, execution-driven environment
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new tools and systems
- Self-starter who can work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
