What we offer
This is an opportunity to shape how Maersk connects with business audiences across Europe. You will work in an international, collaborative environment where your expertise will influence regional media investment, digital customer journeys and the future development of our marketing technology capabilities.
You will partner with skilled colleagues across European and global teams, with the scope to establish standards, introduce new ideas and turn performance insight into measurable commercial impact. You will also have access to Maersk’s learning and development opportunities, wellbeing support and a broad range of employee benefits.
The opportunity
As Regional Digital Marketing & Media Manager for Europe, you will own the regional digital and paid-media strategy, translating business, audience and campaign priorities into integrated plans that increase reach, engagement, demand and conversion.
Based in Liverpool and reporting to the Head of Europe Marketing, you will act as the strategic bridge between European marketers, regional teams, global marketing, media agencies, platforms and performance data. You will bring clarity to investment decisions, strengthen governance and ensure campaigns progress effectively from strategy and activation through to lead generation, optimisation and conversion.
Key responsibilities
- Shape digital and media strategy. Define and lead an integrated European approach across paid and organic channels, aligned with regional priorities and global marketing direction.
- Optimise media investment. Own the regional paid-media framework, including audience strategy, channel mix, campaign phasing, agency governance and creative optimisation. Maintain clear visibility of regional plans and performance.
- Connect investment to outcomes. Manage budget effectiveness and help teams link media spend to campaign goals, key performance indicators, pipeline contribution and commercial impact.
- Improve the digital customer journey. Set the regional framework across awareness, consideration, conversion and nurture. Advise on channel roles, content sequencing, landing-page experience, calls to action and measurement requirements.
- Advance marketing technology and automation. Guide the regional marketing technology landscape across customer relationship management, marketing automation, audience management, analytics and media platforms. Translate regional needs into scalable solutions and support automation that reduces manual work and data-quality risk.
- Enable responsible AI adoption. Lead practical, responsible use of artificial intelligence in media planning, audience intelligence, campaign optimisation, lead management and operational workflows, with appropriate human review, brand controls and data governance.
- Turn insight into action. Partner with the Europe Marketing Performance Manager to establish measurement, experimentation and test-and-learn standards. Convert insight into in-flight optimisation and reusable learning for future investment decisions.
- Build capability and collaboration. Provide functional leadership across regional digital, media and marketing operations. Clarify priorities and decision rights, coach colleagues, create playbooks and represent Europe in global digital, data, customer relationship management and technology initiatives.
- Strengthen governance and manage risk. Own regional governance across customer data, consent, brand, agency quality, measurement and responsible AI. Identify delivery, data, commercial and customer-experience risks early and coordinate corrective action.
What we are looking for
- You are an experienced digital marketing and media professional who can combine strategic thinking, commercial judgement and collaborative leadership in a complex, matrixed business. You are comfortable moving between executive recommendations, agency conversations, campaign detail and performance data.
- Significant experience leading digital marketing and paid-media strategy within, or for, a complex business-to-business organisation. Relevant media-agency experience is also welcomed.
- Strong understanding of marketing funnels, pipeline contribution, attribution and the connection between media investment and commercial performance.
- Practical expertise across paid media, customer relationship management, marketing automation, lead management, audience strategy and digital analytics.
- Experience managing media agencies, campaign investment and senior stakeholders, with the ability to translate data into clear recommendations and decisions.
- Experience designing customer journeys, nurture approaches and conversion frameworks, together with working knowledge of Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, analytics and business-intelligence environments.
- A collaborative leadership style and the ability to influence regional, global and cross-functional teams, define operating models, prioritise resources and build organisational capability.
- A strong governance mindset covering customer data, consent, brand, responsible AI and agency management.
- Fluency in English. Additional European language skills are beneficial, and the role requires flexibility to travel across Europe.
