Do you want to be part of the fastest-growing entertainment concept in the world? Does bringing people together and building teamwork through active gaming excite you? Activate is looking for a dynamic individual for the Digital Marketing Leader role to drive our digital strategy and lead a high-performing team.

The Digital Marketing Leader is responsible for leading Activate’s digital marketing efforts across SEO, CRM, email marketing, social media, and paid media. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role—ideal for a leader who thrives on execution, collaboration, and data-driven growth.

You’ll oversee campaign development and performance while working closely with your team to execute initiatives that increase brand visibility, drive conversions, and enhance customer engagement. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and playing a key role in both strategy and implementation, this is your opportunity to make a big impact.  This is a full-time, permanent position.  We are looking for this role to join our team at our Winnipeg corporate office, but remote out-of-province candidates will also be considered.

The Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as a leader, mentor, and team player—providing strategic guidance while contributing to execution.
  • Define and implement Activate’s digital marketing strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to keep Activate ahead of the digital curve.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Creative to ensure unified messaging and execution.

SEO & Paid Media

  • Oversee the development and implementation of SEO strategies to increase organic visibility and improve search rankings
  • Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, and guide on-page/off-page optimization
  • Collaborate with content creators to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into content development
  • Lead the planning and management of paid media campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, and other digital platforms.
  • Manage budgets, bid strategies, and audience targeting to maximize ROI
  • Analyze campaign performance and implement data-driven optimizations

Email Marketing & CRM

  • Design and execute targeted email campaigns to drive engagement, conversion, and retention
  • A/B test subject lines, content, and CTAs to optimize performance
  • Monitor deliverability, open rates, click-through rates, and conversions
  • Increase brand awareness through development and implementation of a cohesive marketing plan, ensuring development and implementation aligns with Activate’s short-term and long-term objectives for global expansion
  • Manage CRM platforms (e.g. Braze, HubSpot) to enhance customer segmentation, engagement, and retention
  • Develop and optimize customer journeys and lifecycle marketing strategies
  • Leverage data insights to personalize communications and improve customer experience

The Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (Master’s degree is an asset).
  • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, preferably with a high-growth or innovative national brand.
  • This role requires flexibility to work outside the standard hours of work to manage campaign cycles or operational demands.
  • Proven success in SEO, CRM, email marketing, paid media, and social media strategy.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, Braze, HubSpot, and Meta Ads Manager.
  • Experience building digital marketing foundations and scaling them to meet business needs.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to translate performance metrics into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment.
  • Proven ability to excel in fast-paced, high-growth environments by prioritizing shifting demands.
  • Experience coaching and developing team members, with a passion for growing talent.

The Perks:

  • Competitive Salary
