Responsibilities include:
- Oversee digital and social media marketing strategy for all Sony Pictures Classics films. This includes liaising between filmmakers, executives and outside agencies to drive increased ticket sales, film awareness and brand loyalty
- Foster relationships with major movie outlets, such as Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, Apple Trailers, IMDb, and Letterboxd and arrange exclusive content premieres for our films (trailer, clips, stills, posters, etc.)
- Develop and book paid digital advertising campaigns
- Direct agencies and vendors on media plan needs, incorporating direct buys with outlets/websites, social advertising (Facebook,Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), geo-targeting, behavioral targeting and email marketing
- Determine campaign objectives, including flight dates, placement, and demo-targets
- Work directly with exhibitors (AMC, Regal, Cinemark, etc.) to on direct advertising and data buys
- Negotiate rates and manage budgets throughout theatrical runs and awards campaigns
- Oversee the artistic strategy, creation, approval, and delivery of digital ads
- Analyze data from campaigns as they are happening in order to make recommendations and present insights to co-presidents
- Manage and operate all social media channels under the Sony Pictures Classics umbrella
- Devise growth strategies for SPC’s Facebook/X/Instagram/TikTok/Threads/YouTube accounts
- Create separate social accounts for our individual films when appropriate and build fanbases leading up to and through theatrical campaigns
- Write and publish social content, including posters, trailers, stills, press coverage , reviews, and original featurette/interview pieces
- Mine insights to increase fan retention, membership engagement, and refine understanding of the demo audience for each film
- Lead digital content development of film websites and social content
- Hire and supervise outside digital marketing vendors for website production, ePR and social content and strategy
- Direct the strategy of the ePR and social approach, specifically key influencers and brand messaging
- Manage and supervise original content shoots with key talent
- Manage red carpet or other special event coverage in real time through our social handles
- Develop and carry out a grassroots outreach strategy for each film, including partnerships with non-entertainment groups
- Interact with the Sony piracy team to ensure all potential leaks and downloads are being monitored and dealt with urgently
Requirements:
- 1-2 years managing digital platforms (websites and social media platforms) in addition to digital advertising knowledge
- Must be detailed oriented, organized, and to be able to manage multiple projects and films simultaneously
- Graphic design experience welcomed, but not imperative
- Knowledge and love of cinema also welcomed, but not imperative
The anticipated base salary for this position is $81,952 to $106,538. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
