What’s the role?

The Academic Centers Manager is responsible for managing a regional territory of targeted Academic Centers and large influential accounts, as defined by ZEISS, to represent all ZEISS products and services relevant to that account. This individual is responsible for identifying opportunities for increased brand awareness, collaborative partnership opportunities, C-Suite engagement, faculty, staff, Resident and Fellow engagement and education, customized proposal development, customer presentations and coordination of new business opportunities with special emphasis on developing the preparation for and implementation of the ZEISS Digital Ecosystem. Proactively develops effective business relationships with key decision makers in order to meet or exceed objections. The Academic Centers Manager creates sustainable educational programs for each target, coordinates with local stake holders, brings in subject matter experts from ZEISS for demos and educational programs, and works closely with Sales, Marketing, Professional Education, KOL Management, Service, Clinical and the Strategic Accounts Team.

  • Digital Business Development, including all available Digital Products and Services in targeted Academic Centers (AC) and Strategic Accounts.

  • Responsible for Continued REF Success, Share from Competitors for SUR, New Models for ODX.

  • C-Suite Engagement.

  • Liaison with SAM, Sales, Marketing, Private Equity, KOL Management, Leadership.

  • Academic Center (AC) Program Development.

  • AC and Strategic Account Leadership, Faculty, Technician and Admin Engagement and Training.

  • Product Procurement of full Portfolio.

  • KOL and Future Leader Development.

  • Do you qualify?

  •  4-year College/University Degree preferred or equivalent experience and clinical and or digital expertise. MBA preferred.

  • Min 10 years successful sales record in ophthalmology capital equipment or surgical disposables/equipment.

  • Demonstrable Practice Management Knowledge.

  • Teaching Skills and Experience.

  • Experience covering Academic Centers, working with faculty, staff, students, residents, and fellows.

  • Clinical knowledge of ophthalmic diagnostics and surgical.

  • Conceptual knowledge of and ability to create awareness/excitement for Full ZEISS portfolio.

  • Exceptional Presentation Skills.

  • Understanding of Connectivity and Digital Ecosystem.

  • Ability to interface with Executive Level Customers both clinical and non-clinical.

  • Understanding of and experience with PE and Key Accounts.

  • Ability to construct ROI and business case.

  • Creative, resourceful, and have good people skills.

  • Comfortable with fast paced, complex culture.

  • Effective problem solving and conflict management skills.

The annual  pay range for this position:

California: $143,300 - $179,100

AZ/CO/NV: $128,900 - $161,100

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
  
This position is eligible for a Performance Bonus.
