As a hub of innovation within Academic Affairs, CDL blends technology, creativity, and data to continuously improve how UCF teaches and reaches learners — wherever they are.
The Opportunity:
UCF's Center for Distributed Learning (CDL) is seeking a Digital Learning Systems Analyst to serve as a key bridge between business stakeholders and development teams within one of the largest digital learning programs in the country. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of digital learning applications, drive systems analysis across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), and leverage tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Excel, Access, and Apache Superset to deliver insights that shape how UCF students and faculty experience learning online. If you're a systems-minded analyst who thrives on translating complex needs into clear technical solutions — and wants your work to have real educational impact — this is your opportunity to join Knight Nation.
Responsibilities:
- Conducts business and systems analysis to support software development portfolio intake, requirements gathering, prioritization, and evaluation of functional and operational needs for digital learning applications.
- Develops and maintains functional requirements, process documentation, technical specifications, and scope summaries to support software development planning and ongoing portfolio management.
- Analyzes business processes, workflows, system functionality, and stakeholder needs to recommend functional solutions, process improvements, and service delivery enhancements.
- Coordinates documentation, communication, training, and change management activities associated with application enhancements, updates, and stakeholder adoption efforts.
- Supports the full application lifecycle — including implementation, testing, upgrades, release activities, post-implementation support, and minor code or configuration updates as needed.
- Provides functional and technical support by executing testing and validation, troubleshooting system issues, assisting developers with incident investigation, and coordinating stakeholder communication related to system changes and service improvements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, engineering management, or a related field; Agile, Scrum, or equivalent project management certification a plus.
- Experience supporting enterprise, web-based, or digital learning applications in higher education or a similarly complex environment, including portfolio management, system upgrades, and post-implementation activities.
- Applied programming experience — reading, writing, troubleshooting, or supporting application code.
- Proficiency in functional testing, issue tracking, and system change documentation; experience coordinating stakeholder communication and change management for technology implementations.
- Familiarity with FERPA, ADA, WCAG, and LTI standards, and an understanding of higher education administrative processes and cross-functional coordination in a service-oriented environment.
