The Role
  • Full time 2-year, fixed term opportunity. Located at the Moore Theological College

  • Opportunity to play a visible role in a nationally significant digital humanities platform while working directly with researchers across the University.

  • Base Salary $126,065 - $142,171 (HEO8) + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

As Digital Humanities Specialist at the Sydney Informatics Hub (SIH), you will join the Curated Collections team, supporting a new national platform allowing humanities researchers to create and publish digital collections. You will develop and deliver training to research staff and students and engage with the research community both within the University and nationally to ensure that the platfom meets researcher requirements. 

You will work within a team of data scientists, software engineers and research infrastructure specialists providing specialised technical support to the University’s research community. 

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • report to the Data Science Group lead 

  • develop and deliver training workshops supporting the Curated Collections digital humanities platform. 

  • collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and develop areas for more specialised or targeted training in digital humanities tools 

  • collaborate with external stakeholders, including the ARDC, partners and other tertiary institutions, to support the Curated Collections project 

  • provide platform support for Curated Collections to researchers at the University and nationally. 

About you

You are an excellent communicator who enjoys working with researchers and enabling others to succeed. You bring experience in engagement, training, libraries, digital scholarship or research support and are confident presenting to diverse academic audiences.

You will have:

  • relevant postgraduate qualifications or equivalent professional experience

  • experience delivering training, workshops or researcher support

  • strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • an interest in digital humanities, digital collections or research infrastructure

  • the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams

  • experience in a university library, research support unit or digital scholarship environment will be highly regarded.
