Role Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Digital Hardware Engineer with strong PC board design expertise to develop specialty, made-to-order embedded control systems built to withstand harsh industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve digital hardware for embedded control platforms
- Create and update schematics and PCBs; manage component selection, DFM, and DFT practices
- Lead peer reviews for schematics, PCB layout, and design outputs
- Design microcontroller I/O, signal conditioning, and serial communication buses (SPI, I²C, UART)
- Collaborate with firmware engineers on interface definitions and board bring-up
- Execute board-level validation, functional testing, and EMC compliance
- Partner with manufacturing to resolve build issues and support release to production
- Produce clear documentation: BOMs, interface specs, cost estimates, and revision control
- BS/MS in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience with a focus on digital circuits
- Proficiency in Altium (schematic and PCB layout)
- Digital logic, embedded microcontrollers, serial communications (SPI, I²C, UART, Ethernet, RS-232/485)
- FPGA/CPLD development and HDL (VHDL, Verilog)
- Circuit simulation tools (LTspice, Simulink, Plexim)
- Analog circuits and power electronics
- IPC-610, UL/CSA compliance standards
Skills Required
- BS/MS in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience with a focus on digital circuits
- Proficiency in Altium (schematic and PCB layout)
- Digital logic, embedded microcontrollers, serial communications (SPI, I²C, UART, Ethernet, RS-232/485)
