Digital Design Systems Specialist

About You

This is an opportunity for a talented individual who has considerable knowledge around Bentley Projectwise, 12D Synergy, and a solid foundation of workflows associated with the production of design documentation and Information Management. Our BIM and Digital Engineering division is expanding, and you will be part of a collaborative team spread across Australia, tasked with working closely with our CAD Systems department to help the growth and compliance of Information management standards across multiple markets and project scale and complexities. You will be supported with expertise from our Digital Delivery and Engineering teams and equally be responsible for the knowledge sharing and upskilling of delivery teams in the use of the Common Data Environment (CDE) and information management governance. This opportunity requires a high level of critical thinking and communication skills to interact across the business sectors and regions.

You will also:-

• Provide inputs to inform best practice as it relates to Information Management for projects and bids

• Support development of Digital Engineering workflows through the design, construction and handover phases of project

• Help develop BIM and digital engineering practices, identifying new skill requirements and changes in capability, and sharing these practices with clients and delivery practitioners within Beca; 

• Communicating the value proposition to the organisation and embed changes in the way BIM and collaborative information management practices (per ISO 19650) are adopted across the project lifecycle;  

• monitor technological innovations in industry ensuring Beca remains contemporary in its delivery practices (eg. encouraging the adoption of technological advances to support health and safety or site optimisation practices); 

• Train and coach project teams on CDE workflows and information management best practices

• Champion Digital Engineering at Beca and represent Beca internally and externally

Working with the Digital Engineering team, you will proactively engage with project delivery teams fostering Information Management governance and driving standardisation of CDEs for Beca and our Partners.

About You

You’ll have a relevant tertiary qualification and have Accreditation or similar proof of training with ISO 19650.  A solid track record in developing and leading technically capable, diverse and high performing teams and driving a culture of problem-solving, collaboration and excellence and strong communication.

This experience will preferably be in the engineering sector, in particular exposure to large multi-disciplinary infrastructure with data-intensive projects with a variety of maturities levels for Information Management and Delivery. A background in design authoring is desired with an understanding of working to Public sector CAD and Digital Engineering standards. A strong grasp of the drivers for change in the construction and multi-discipline engineering consultancy. 

This role is a technical role that requires deep technical understanding of the ISO 19650-2 workflow configuration and administration of Common Data Environments.

You will also have: 

• Experience in developing technical standards, specifications and guidance documentation

• Experience in producing design deliverables using BIM authoring software suites 

• Experience in visual programming and other coding languages

• Experience scripting in Powershell, .NET and Python preferred

• Experience in BIM and Information Management softwares and deliverables

• Preferably a background in engineering delivery roles across linear and vertical infrastructure

• Must be an AU Citizen, Defence Baseline clearance preferable
