The Position

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

Role Summary: As a Digital Content Creation Associate (Copywriter), you autonomously own digital copy from brief to published asset—covering product pages, emailers, social posts, short-form web content, screencast scripts, infographics, and summarized reports—by interpreting briefs, defining approach/structure/voice, writing and referencing claims, QA’ing, managing medical-legal/brand review and release, maintaining editorial frameworks (calendar, tone-of-voice guidance, templates, checklists), sequencing concurrent work, approving copy against standards, diagnosing and rewriting underperforming content, advising requesters on feasibility/scope, contributing expertise to projects/squads, and coaching/reviewing less experienced colleagues’ copy.

The Opportunity:

  • Own assigned digital content requests end-to-end, from brief to published asset, with minimal supervision and accountability for accuracy, quality, compliance, delivery dates, content calendar, review timelines, requester/reviewer visibility, workload sequencing, capacity estimation, requester expectations, feasibility guidance, and scope-change escalation.
  • Interpret briefs and create production-quality digital copy by defining approach, structure, format, and voice for each audience/channel; writing brand-compliant content for product pages, emailers, social posts, and short-form web; repurposing high-performing content into infographics, screencast scripts, and summarized reports; and choosing the best format for the message.
  • Ensure editorial, scientific, and technical quality by referencing every claim to trusted sources, performing copyediting/fact-checking on your own and colleagues’ work, applying grammar/spelling/syntax/structure/flow standards, enforcing brand style/quality/tone-of-voice, resolving brand vs. channel conflicts, aligning copy with design/graphics/layout, and approving copy for release against brand, medical-legal, and quality standards.
  • Manage review, compliance, and optimization by taking copies through approval workflows, resolving reviewer comments, securing sign-off, maintaining required review records, applying Roche branding, Divisional Standards, and the Digital Marketing Playbook, diagnosing underperforming content and rewriting it, applying SEO/search practices (keyword intent, headings, metadata, and links), and optimizing published content based on evidence.
  • Drive channel content strategy execution by partnering with the Digital Content Creation Manager on channel plans, translating audience insights and performance data into editorial frameworks, calendars, and lifecycle plans, analyzing content data to decide what to write/repurpose/refresh/retire, and collaborating with design, SEO, and campaign management colleagues on integrated tactics.
  • Contribute to capability building and continuous improvement by owning/revising tone-of-voice guidance, templates, work instructions, and editorial checklists; leading or supporting projects/squads that extend content types, channels, templates, and tools; advising sub-chapter planning on feasibility/effort/impact; and coaching/onboarding less experienced colleagues by reviewing copy and guiding writing standards, templates, and review processes.

Who you are:

  • University degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Life Sciences, English or a related field (or equivalent practical experience), with 3+ years of hands-on copywriting, content creation, or editorial experience for a brand, agency, or in-house team; excellent written/verbal English; and a portfolio of published digital copy.
  • Proven ability to write clear, persuasive, and technically accurate digital copy for web, email, social, and campaign channels, with strong editorial practice in copyediting, fact-checking, sub-editing, tone-of-voice, and style systems that ensure brand consistency across audiences.
  • Strong autonomy and ownership: able to manage assigned content work with minimal supervision, prioritize and sequence multiple concurrent requests, take content from brief to published asset, remain accountable for what is published, manage requester expectations, size workload/capacity, and escalate scope changes appropriately.
  • Working knowledge of regulated content review/approval workflows, governance, and compliance controls, plus ability to resolve reviewer comments without losing copy intent, diagnose underperforming content against brief/audience/channel, rewrite based on evidence, and apply SEO practices including keyword intent, headings, metadata, and link structure.
  • Able to turn content performance data and audience insights into editorial frameworks, content calendars, and lifecycle plans; experienced collaborating with designers, SEO specialists, and campaign managers on integrated digital assets; contributing to projects/squads/service improvements; translating editorial experience into template/process changes; coaching less experienced colleagues; and working in centralized hub-based teams supporting multiple affiliates, markets, and geographies.
