The Digital Content Authoring Specialist will be accountable for supporting the Manager, Digital Merchandising Operations and Associate Manager, Digital Authoring in executing digital marketing and content authoring plans for several facets and divisions within Canadian Tire Corporation. The Specialist will also be responsible for supporting the management of the online restrictions platform for canadiantire.ca, as well as populating key SEO and on-page elements to optimize category pages and other content-driven experiences across digital properties.

What You'll Do:

  • Successfully implement digital campaigns/content builds and serve as the day-to-day authoring contact for canadiantire.ca, Triangle Retail Media, Triangle.com, Gas+, as well as other digital properties.
  • Build, test and deploy digital content updates as requested by cross-functional partners (both in English and French) in coordination with the Associate Manager, via CMS platforms on multiple channels (responsive web, app, in-store).
  • Provide proactive communication between cross-functional teams and product owners regarding roadblocks or updates pertaining to ongoing projects.
  • Self-manage workback schedules via Adobe Workfront to stay on track for successful authoring and publishing delivery.
  • Maintain the appearance and quality of websites by adhering to content, accessibility (AODA), and brand standards, while documenting best practices into standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures, incorporating new learnings, tools, and best practices. 
  • Test, maintain and improve customer experiences on websites through dedicated site reviews and quality assurance activities.
  • Use content management systems (CMS), authoring tools, content creation tools, applications, and digital media to support content creation and maintenance. 
  • HTML/CSS work where required.
  • Liaise with IT, Creative, and other cross-functional teams when required on project work and functional enhancements.
  • Support personalization and optimization activities through digital experience tools, including Adobe Target, where required.
  • Assist with the intake and solutioning of online restrictions requests from cross-functional teams, while actively monitoring a shared intake inbox.
  • Assist with other on-site changes related to content and optimization requests, where required.
  • Use AI and automation tools in day-to-day activities and for development purposes.

What You'll Bring:

  • 2-3 years' experience in a digital environment; digital content authoring experience an asset.
  • A university degree; or equivalent experience, coupled with a relevant certificate.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into business terms.
  • Good interpersonal, presentation, communication, and research skills.
  • General business knowledge of eCommerce/e-merchandising principles and processes.
  • Team player with the ability to manage relationships with multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Good understanding of HTML/CSS and content management systems (CMS), preferably Adobe Experience Manager (AEM); familiarity with JavaScript is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with digital accessibility standards (AODA/WCAG) and Adobe Experience Cloud products, including Adobe Target, is considered an asset.
  • Exposure and knowledge of AI and automation tools, such as Microsoft CoPilot, is considered an asset.
  • Working experience with Jira/Confluence, is considered an asset.

Our typical hiring range is between $53,000.00 and $88,000.00 CAD Annual. The target salary range is between $55,000.00 and $67,500.00 CAD Annual. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
