Role Summary

Marex has a growing digital assets franchise spanning multiple businesses and legal entities across the Group. The Group Digital Assets function supports the development and implementation of digital asset capabilities in a coordinated, controlled and scalable manner.

The Digital Assets Associate will support the day-to-day delivery of digital asset projects originating from desks and business areas across Marex Group. Working centrally, the role will coordinate initiatives from initial concept through implementation, partnering with Front Office and Support & Control functions.

The role will act as a central point of coordination for digital asset initiatives, helping to define requirements, establish delivery plans, manage actions and dependencies, and support production readiness. The successful candidate will help ensure that projects are implemented consistently with Marex's governance framework, regulatory obligations, risk appetite and operational standards. The role will also contribute to Group digital asset strategy by assessing market developments and helping identify new applications for digital asset technology across Marex.

Responsibilities

The role will support the Group Digital Assets function in the following areas:

Project Delivery and Coordination

  • Support the delivery of strategic and tactical digital asset initiatives across Marex Group.
  • Coordinate projects originating from Front Office desks and business areas interested in developing or implementing digital asset capabilities.
  • Prepare and maintain project plans, milestones, action logs, risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Coordinate working groups, project meetings and implementation activities through to production.
  • Track deliverables and follow up with stakeholders to ensure actions are completed on schedule.
  • Escalate project risks, blockers and unresolved dependencies in a timely manner.

Business Analysis and Implementation

  • Gather and document business, operational and control requirements from stakeholders.
  • Support the development of current-state and target-state operating models, process maps and procedures.
  • Translate business requirements into clear implementation actions for Technology, Operations and Control functions.
  • Assist with implementation planning, testing, user acceptance testing, production readiness and post-implementation reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation, standardisation and better use of technology.

Cross-Group Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a central point of coordination between Front Office desks and Support & Control functions.
  • Build effective working relationships across divisions, legal entities and jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate input from subject matter experts and ensure decisions, responsibilities and next steps are clearly documented.
  • Provide clear and concise project updates to the Central Digital Assets Lead and relevant governance forums.

Strategy, Innovation and Market Development

  • Support the development of Marex's Group digital asset strategy, including analysis of new business opportunities, potential acquisitions, investments, partnerships and other strategic opportunities.
  • Maintain awareness of developments across digital asset markets, blockchain and distributed ledger technology, tokenisation, stablecoins, regulation, market infrastructure and competitor activity, and assess their relevance to Marex.
  • Develop and evaluate new use cases for digital asset technology, including how it can enhance, digitise or expand traditional financial services, and support feasibility assessments and business cases to translate promising concepts into executable projects.

Operating Model and Control Frameworks

  • Support implementation of operating models covering client onboarding, execution, custody, settlement, collateral, books and records, reconciliation and reporting.
  • Work with Support & Control to embed appropriate controls within new processes.
  • Assist with documenting governance, approval and escalation arrangements for digital asset activities.
  • Support the review and implementation of arrangements with digital asset custodians, trading venues, technology providers and other market infrastructure partners.

Governance and Regulatory Support

  • Prepare project updates, management information, committee materials and governance papers.
  • Support internal approval processes for new digital asset products, services, counterparties and infrastructure.
  • Assist with regulatory initiatives, information requests and implementation of regulatory requirements affecting digital assets.
  • Maintain project documentation and evidence in line with Marex governance and record-keeping standards.

Business Management and Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain a consolidated view of digital asset initiatives across Marex Group and produce timely MI on project status, risks, delivery progress and key decisions.
  • Support prioritisation of projects based on commercial value, regulatory requirements, dependencies and delivery capacity.

Skills and Experience:

Required

  • Approximately 2-4 years* of experience in financial services, consulting, business management, project management or a related role.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating business, technology, regulatory or operational change projects.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to prepare clear project plans, process documentation, management updates and governance materials.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Exposure to capital markets, trading, derivatives, prime brokerage, clearing, financing or collateral management.
  • Understanding of digital assets, blockchain technology or digital asset market infrastructure.
  • Experience working with Front Office, Technology, Operations, Risk, Legal or Compliance functions.
  • Experience documenting business requirements, operating models or control frameworks.
  • Knowledge of project delivery methodologies and experience supporting testing or production implementation.
  • Interest in emerging financial technology and the ability to assess market developments and potential strategic applications.
  • Relevant professional, finance or project management qualification.
