This is a 12 month fixed-term contract.
Dentsu Creative JHB is looking for a dynamic conceptual copy & art team to elevate the work with innovative digital and social thinking with exceptional craft.
The ideal team should be passionate about pushing creative boundaries in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, excel in current trends, a strong work ethic, a track record of executing high-impact, high-volume campaigns, and brings top-tier Concept, Copy, Design, and Art Direction skills.

Job Description:

Senior Art Director

We believe great creative attracts great talent; great talent leads to great work. We’re looking for a senior art director with a fire award-winning portfolio to join our team and create great work.

What we’re looking for:

  • An exciting portfolio (real work on real clients) - please submit this with your application
  • Advertising agency experience of at least five years in the industry, having worked in a reputable advertising agency
  • Presentation skills and client facing experience required
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a vast portfolio and experience in TTL and Digital
  • Has strong abilities and experience conceptualising and implementing large campaigns – particularly in the TTL and digital space
  • Taking ‘ownership’ is key. You must have the ability to see a project through from start to finish
  • A keen eye for detail and design aesthetics
  • Experience in leading creative projects and guiding junior team members
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Ensures the brand tone and position is exemplified within the creative product
  • Provides insightful, creative executions which positively impact a client’s business

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development of distinctive, on-brand visual concepts across campaigns, film, digital and social executions.
  • Articulates and presents creative work with authority to both internal teams and clients.
  • Safeguards brand consistency and positioning through exceptional craft and design standards.
  • Applies technology and innovation to elevate creative solutions and solve business challenges.
  • Contributes to pitches and continuously raises creative quality through strong collaboration, feedback and direction.
  • Identifies new visual opportunities and drives execution in partnership with Copy under Creative Director leadership.

Senior Copywriter

What we’re looking for:

  • A strong portfolio of real client work (submit with application)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a reputable advertising agency
  • Proven client-facing presentation skills
  • Solid TTL, Digital and Social campaign experience
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualise and roll out large-scale campaigns
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to see projects through end-to-end
  • Experience leading projects and mentoring junior team members
  • Excellent collaboration, communication and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A sharp understanding of brand tone and positioning
  • A track record of delivering impactful creative work that drives business results

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops clear, on-brand creative concepts and narratives across scripts, storyboards and treatments.
  • Presents ideas confidently to internal teams and clients.
  • Upholds brand consistency and positioning.
  • Uses technology creatively to solve business challenges.
  • Contributes to pitches and overall creative quality by improving briefs, feedback and collaboration.
  • Identifies new creative opportunities and executes concepts in partnership with the Art Director under Creative Director guidance.
