Classy Llama is a digital consultancy founded in 2007 with the Mission to love others through business and a Vision to deliver inspiration, insights, and digital transformation services that offer rock-solid solutions to industrial B2B companies in verticals like automotive, manufacturing, parts, materials, and customizable products. We only succeed when we help our clients succeed. Our primary focus is on investing in hiring, developing, and growing our people.
Position Overview:As our Digital Analytics & Integrations Specialist, you own the measurement layer that everything else depends on. You are the person who makes sure the data is right — that GA4 is collecting clean events, that GTM is firing the right tags to the right platforms, that product feeds reach Google Merchant Center without errors, and that the dashboards leadership looks at every Monday actually reconcile with the numbers in the ERP.
You are equally comfortable in a tag manager, in a BigQuery console, and on a call explaining to a client's VP of Sales why last month's conversions dropped. You are curious, methodical, and skeptical of numbers you have not validated yourself.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Consult, scope, and own the analytics and integrations layer for a portfolio of B2B eCommerce clients.
- Design and implement measurement plans that tie site behavior to real business outcomes — quotes, RFQs, phone calls, sales orders, and revenue — not just sessions and pageviews.
- Build the data infrastructure that makes reporting trustworthy: clean collection, documented definitions, and reconciled sources.
- Translate business questions into data models, and data findings into recommendations a non-technical stakeholder can act on.
- Audit existing setups, find what is broken or double-counting, and produce a prioritized remediation roadmap.
- Partner with developers, merchandisers, and marketers to get tracking implemented correctly the first time.
- Communicate clearly to the production team and the client without ambiguity and with deadlines.
- Keep your cool when working with many diverse stakeholders.
- Architect and implement GA4 properties from scratch: data streams, event taxonomy, custom dimensions and metrics, conversion/key events, audiences, and cross-domain configuration.
- Build and maintain Google Tag Manager containers — web and server-side — including data layer specifications, triggers, variables, lookup tables, consent mode, and version control discipline.
- Write data layer specs for developers and QA the implementation before it ships.
- Implement full eCommerce tracking (view_item, add_to_cart, begin_checkout, purchase) on Magento/Adobe Commerce, Shopify, and custom platforms, plus B2B-specific events like quote requests, RFQs, account registrations, and gated downloads.
- Migrate and audit legacy Universal Analytics logic; diagnose and fix data quality issues such as duplicate transactions, self-referrals, missing attribution, and bot traffic.
- Configure and maintain Google Search Console, Google Ads, and Looker Studio connections into the analytics stack.
- Deploy and validate marketing pixels and conversion tracking across Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft/Bing, and other platforms.
- Implement server-side tracking and Conversions API integrations to preserve measurement accuracy under cookie restrictions and ad blockers.
- Configure enhanced conversions, offline conversion imports, and CRM-to-ad-platform data flows.
- Manage consent management platforms and ensure tracking respects GDPR, CCPA, and client privacy policies.
- Integrate analytics with the wider marketing stack — ESPs (Klaviyo, DotDigital, Listrak, MailChimp), CRMs, and call tracking — so attribution holds together end to end.
- Build, optimize, and troubleshoot product feeds for Google Merchant Center, Meta Catalog, and marketplace channels.
- Resolve disapprovals, GTIN and identifier issues, policy violations, and account suspensions.
- Implement feed rules, supplemental feeds, and attribute enrichment to improve Shopping performance.
- Configure and validate structured data / schema markup for products, pricing, and availability.
- Support Performance Max and Shopping campaign setup from the data side — feed health, custom labels, and conversion values.
- Manage feed automation and scheduled refreshes so catalog changes propagate reliably.
- Configure GA4 → BigQuery exports and write SQL to answer questions the GA4 interface cannot — cohort behavior, multi-session journeys, custom attribution, and lifetime value.
- Build and maintain datasets, scheduled queries, and transformation logic that blend analytics, ad platform, and eCommerce/ERP data into a single reporting layer.
- Own data reconciliation: when the platform, the analytics tool, and the client's back office disagree, you find out why.
- Document schemas, metric definitions, and query logic so the work is maintainable by someone other than you.
- Design and build dashboards in Looker Studio (and comparable BI tools) that answer specific business questions rather than dumping every available metric.
- Automate recurring client and internal reporting, replacing manual spreadsheet work wherever possible.
- Deliver monthly and quarterly performance narratives — what happened, why, and what to do next.
- Build attribution and channel performance views that hold up to scrutiny from finance and leadership.
- Perform CRO analyses for client sites and create optimization roadmaps grounded in behavioral data, funnel drop-off, and session recordings.
- Design, instrument, and measure A/B tests; calculate significance honestly and report results without spin.
- Support paid search and SEO teams with the measurement they need: keyword and landing page performance, campaign tracking parameters, and conversion value modeling.
- Understand how to evangelize and use research to drive decisions, and apply findings to deliver useful, usable, and desirable solutions.
- Present findings to client stakeholders and defend the methodology behind them.
Required Skills, Abilities and Characteristics
Technical Skills:- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in digital analytics, marketing technology, or a closely related data role.
- Demonstrable expertise in GA4 and Google Tag Manager — you have built implementations, not just read reports from them.
- Working knowledge of the data layer, JavaScript fundamentals, HTML, CSS, and browser developer tools for debugging tag behavior.
- SQL proficiency; experience with BigQuery or a comparable cloud data warehouse.
- Experience with Google Merchant Center and product feed management, including troubleshooting disapprovals.
- Experience deploying and validating conversion tracking across Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and Microsoft Ads.
- Dashboard and visualization experience in Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Familiarity with eCommerce platforms — Adobe Commerce/Magento, Shopify, or BigCommerce — and how their data models behave.
- Understanding of privacy regulation as it applies to tracking: GDPR, CCPA, consent mode, and cookie lifetimes.
- Advantageous: server-side GTM, Google Cloud Platform, APIs and ETL tooling, Python or R, Google Analytics or Google Ads certifications.
- Able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders without condescension or jargon.
- Comfortable on video conference calls with clients; strong written and verbal communication.
- Methodical and detail-oriented — you validate before you report, and you notice when a number looks wrong.
- Self-directed problem solver who is comfortable with ambiguity and unfamiliar systems.
- Passion for eCommerce, measurement, and internet marketing.
- Agency or consultancy experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously.
- B2B or industrial/manufacturing eCommerce background, including long sales cycles and quote-based funnels.
- Experience with CDPs, data pipeline tools, or reverse ETL.
