Southern California News Group is seeking an Advertising Sales Executive to join our team! The role is responsible for driving new business revenue for our in-house creative and content marketing division Skyline Studio. You will focus on prospecting, building client relationships, and closing new business opportunities across digital, print, and branded content platforms. This is a pure sales role for a motivated hunter who thrives on outbound prospecting, cold calling, and exceeding goals.

This is a remote role (San Diego, Orange County, or Los Angeles residents only; on-site presence required for sales meetings and client events).

What you will do:

  • Proactively Prospect, Qualify and Close: Own the full sales process from generating prospects to closing deals, with 100% focus on new business opportunities (no leads provided — all leads must be self-generated).

  • Create Compelling Sales Presentations: Develop and deliver solution-based proposals that effectively promote our advertising and marketing services.

  • Cultivate Long-Term Relationships: Build and maintain partnerships with clients to ensure continued success, renewals, and referrals.

  • Strategic Targeting: Research, prioritize, and target prospects using multiple lead sources, aligning their audience segments with SCNG/Skyline/Adtaxi products, including print, digital display, branded content, influencer marketing, video, CTV, DOOH, mobile, and social media.

  • Stay Informed on Industry Trends: Monitor and understand current trends in digital and traditional advertising to position our products effectively.

  • Expert Sales Knowledge: Demonstrate strong understanding of online media channels and how they integrate with offline executions to create holistic client solutions.

  • Analyze Sales Metrics: Track sales performance, identify growth opportunities, and adjust strategies to achieve success.

  • Collaborate Internally: Partner with internal teams to develop compelling and effective media solutions for advertisers.

What you will bring:

  • Proven Sales Success: Over two years of advertising/media sales experience, with a track record of driving revenue and closing deals in digital media or online advertising sales

  • Hunter Mentality: A relentless drive to prospect and close new business. Comfortable with cold calling, outreach, and handling rejection while maintaining a positive, proactive attitude

  • Sales Techniques Expertise: Thoroughly skilled in sales techniques such as cold-calling and lead generation, with a proven ability to close deals and proficiency with sales platforms (Salesforce and Outreach)

  • Self-Driven and Independent: Capable of working independently, identifying and prioritizing business opportunities effectively

  • Contract Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated ability to negotiate multi-variable contracts and successfully close new business deals

  • Positive and Entrepreneurial Attitude: Bring a positive and entrepreneurial spirit to the team, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment

  • Strong Communication and Time Management: Exhibit excellent presentation, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities

What you will bring:

  • Proven Sales Success: Minimum two years of advertising/media sales experience with a demonstrated track record of driving revenue and closing deals.

  • Hunter Mentality: A relentless drive to prospect and close new business. Comfortable cold calling, networking, and handling rejection while maintaining a positive attitude.

  • Sales Techniques Expertise: Skilled in lead generation, outreach, and closing with proficiency in sales platforms such as Salesforce and Outreach.

  • Self-Driven and Independent: Able to work autonomously while effectively prioritizing opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Contract Negotiation Skills: Experienced in negotiating and closing multi-variable contracts.

  • Strong Communication and Time Management: Excellent presentation, organization, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Positive and Entrepreneurial Attitude: Collaborative, motivated, and results-oriented approach to work.

Preferred:

  • Consultative selling or solution-based sales experience

  • Local Ad Sales experience

  • Experience selling influencer marketing, experiential, video production, television, radio, magazines, or digital media solutions.

Benefits and Compensation:

The salary range is $75,000 - $85,000. This position is eligible for incentive compensation (commission), cell phone, and mileage reimbursement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
