What you will do:
- Utilize multiple lead sources to research, prioritize, and target potential customers, aligning their audience segments with SDUT/Adtaxi products, including print, internet banner advertising, custom/branded content, influencer marketing, behavioral and contextual targeted networks, video, SEO/SEM, mobile, and social media
- Take charge of the entire sales process, from generating prospects to closing deals, with a focus on expanding new business opportunities and exceeding KPI goals for your clients
- Develop and deliver compelling marketing presentations and solution-based proposals that cater to customer needs and effectively promote our products and services
- Create and update marketing presentations using research and case studies to sell against competitive media
- Strengthen and maintain partnerships with clients to ensure lasting business relationships and continued revenue growth and to define KPI's and success metrics for campaign performance
- Work closely with clients post-sale to ensure client retention, renewal and overall campaign success
- Stay ahead of the curve by actively monitoring and understanding current trends in the advertising technology industry
- Demonstrate expert knowledge in online media channels, as well as an understanding of their correlation to offline executions, enabling you to effectively position our products and services against competitors
- Assess key sales metrics to develop effective strategies for achieving sales success
- Navigate smoothly across various departments within SDUT to create compelling media solutions for advertisers
What you will bring:
- At least 3 years of advertising/media sales experience, with a track record of driving revenue and closing deals, along with demonstrated success in digital media or online advertising sales
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with a sales enablement platform (e.g., Outreach or Pardot) is preferred
- Thoroughly skilled in sales techniques such as cold-calling, networking, and lead generation, with a proven ability to close deals
- Capable of working independently, identifying and prioritizing business opportunities effectively
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate multi-variable contracts and successfully close new business deals
- Bring a positive and entrepreneurial spirit to the team, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment
- Exhibit excellent presentation, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
- Must have a valid driver's license to visit clients on-site
The hourly wage range is $31.25-$38.46. This position is eligible for incentive compensation (commission) and cell phone reimbursement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. This role is eligible for a bonus based on performance. In addition to your salary, The San Diego Union-Tribune offers a comprehensive benefits package, and a 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
