Job Summary:

The Dietary Aide at Echoing Hills assists the Dietary Coordinator and Dietary Director in meal preparation according to dietary guidelines for the individuals we serve. This role involves receiving and storing food supplies, maintaining cleanliness in the dietary department, and working closely with other staff to ensure a healthy and safe environment. Using a person-centered approach, the Dietary Aide helps individuals fulfill their desires and needs for an independent life.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Assist in food preparation and handling, including following recipes and dietary guidelines.
  • Handle, use, and clean equipment properly, and report any issues.
  • Set up and clean the dining room and dietary areas before and after meals.
  • Receive and store food and supplies, ensuring accuracy and proper storage.
  • Assist with daily operations, including training new employees and cooperating with regulatory audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including participating in committees and assisting during emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in the food service industry preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within 90 days of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily in the facility, with occasional external settings.
  • Flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and potential overtime.
  • Exposure to burns, cuts, and varying temperatures.
  • Continuous standing and walking, with the ability to reach, stoop, bend, lift, and carry dietary supplies and equipment.
  • Frequently required to lift objects up to 45 pounds.
