Shift and Schedule:  

  • Day Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
    Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
  • Evening Shift: 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM
    Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday 

Pay: $19.00 DOE

Job Summary

The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus.   

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare therapeutic desserts and salads as required.

  • Serve meals in the Health Center.

  • Set up and clear tables in the Health Center dining room.

  • Transport hot and cold foods to and from the Health Center.

  • Transport necessary food service supplies and non-food items  to and from the Health Center.

  • Maintain equipment, workstations, and dining areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition. 

 

Other Duties:

 

  • Maintains standards for personal appearance and cleanliness. 

  • Maintains safe and sanitary conditions. 

  • Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned. 

  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Must be 16 years or older.

  • Previous experience in a nursing home, hospital, senior living, or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to follow instructions, dietary orders, and communicate effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail when following food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
  • Ability to communicate with residents to take meal orders accurately and enter orders into a Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful when assisting older adults.
  • Dependable and team-oriented, with a strong focus on resident satisfaction and quality service.

 

Physical Requirements 

 

Light to moderate physical effort 90% of the time. Must be able to stand and walk 90% of the work day; ability to stoop, bend and stretch frequently; lifting weight requirement will not be more than 50 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to see, hear, and speak.
