Gundersen St. Elizabeth's in Wabasha as a variety of full and part time Diet Aide positions in our Nutrition Services Department!

Our food service team is Top Notch in providing customer service and caring for our residents and patients.

Job Description:

Performs routine foodservice activities related to food preparation, set-up, delivery and clean up.  Participates in cash handling duties. Maintains cleanliness of foodservice facilities. Provides prompt and courteous customer service. 
 

Major Responsibilities:

1. Assists with food preparation and set-up. Labels, date and store food items as appropriate.

2. Processes patients meal orders, assembles meal trays for patients.

3. Follows proper portioning and safe food handling.

4. Clean and sanitizes counters and equipment; wash pots, pans, dishes and trays in adherence to infection prevention guideline.

5. Assists with delivery of food to assigned areas, on time and completes necessary temperature checks.

6. Operates and maintains a variety of standard kitchen equipment; reports faulty equipment as necessary.

7. Performs cash and charge transactions.

8. Follows departmental and organization policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

9. Knowledge and practice of good personal hygiene and adheres to dietary regulatory specific dress code.

10. Demonstrates core value of the Employee Code of Conduct in interactions with peers.

11. Assists new coworkers in orientation and adaptation to the department and the organization.

12. Completes in-house catering duties for meetings, etc. when applicable.

13. Complies to all HIPAA regulations, all employees must abide by organization and department policies regarding security and privacy. All staff members must work together to ensure patient confidentiality.

14. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.

15. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Learning:

REQUIRED

High School Diploma or equivalency or current student status with future proof of graduation or equivalency required

Work Experience:

REQUIRED

No experience required. 

DESIRED

6 months foodservice experience. 

Past experience in a healthcare setting.

License and Certifications:

DESIRED

Servsafe Certification (SERVSAFE) 

Valid Driver's License (DL)

    • Ability to meet physical requirements (standing/walking, lifting up to 25-50 lbs, frequent reaching/bending)
    • 6 months foodservice experience
    • Past experience in a healthcare setting
    • ServSafe certification (SERVSAFE)
    • Valid Driver's License (DL)
    • Adheres to regular and predictable attendance
