This role is critical to ensure the COSMOS Claims payments are processed timely and accurately. This position entails a higher level of knowledge and comprehension needed to navigate the COSMOS mainframe as well as implement monthly/quarterly/yearly software upgrades. This role also requires the ability to collaborate with multiple teams including the COSMOS IT team, UHC Finance leadership, UHC Claims Processing team and our third-party print provider. The COSMOS Checkwrite role provides the necessary leadership and system knowledge to ensure the COSMOS claims payments are paid per the CMS regulatory requirements.
This position is Per Diem. Employees are required to have flexibility to work a per diem schedule as needed.
This will be on the job training and the hours during training will be during normal business hours.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the COSMOS Checkwrite process ensuring timely and accurate payments in line with CMS regulatory requirements
- Implement and maintain processes and procedures for the COSMOS Checkwrite program ensuring best practices and backup roles are in place
- Develop and maintain internal control structure and procedures for financial reporting
- Resolve high level COSMOS Checkwrite processing issues avoiding payment delays
- Maintain the payment audit process and collaborate with COSMOS IT and UHC Finance regarding Checkwrite processing issues
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of COSMOS software implementations ensuring the quality, reliability and timeliness of the implementations
- Provide operational and technical expertise related to COSMOS Checkwrite to ensure the COSMOS Claims team is in compliance with policies, rules, regulation and laws
- Coordinate and support the COSMOS Claims strategic and operational planning
- Support various special projects as required
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 5+ years of experience with COSMOS Checkwrite
- Ability to work Per Diem. Employees are required to have flexibility to work a per diem schedule as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Excel, Word, and other financial reporting tools
- Advanced analytical and information gathering skills; ability to evaluate and prioritize extensive detailed data
- Experience successfully managing multiple requests, assessing priorities and achieving solutions under deadlines
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $18 - $32 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
