Position Description
Discipleship Educator
Purpose
To provide an educational and spiritual atmosphere within the class setting to motivate students to learn and put into practice the disciplines necessary to be mentally sound, emotionally balanced and socially adjusted and physically well, and spiritually alive in Jesus Christ.
Primary Responsibilities
Spiritual Education & Discipleship
Facilitate and teach the Adult & Teen Challenge USA curriculum, including Group Studies for New Life in Christ (GSNL) and Personal Studies for New Life in Christ (PSNL).
Guide students through the Cornerstone PSNL studies, helping them understand and practice essential spiritual disciplines such as Bible study, Scripture memorization, prayer, sermon application, and godly character development.
Assist students in developing and completing their Individual Growth Plans (IGPs), encouraging intentional spiritual growth and Christ-centered transformation.
Evaluate student progress in spiritual development and provide encouragement, accountability, and discipleship support.
Lead classroom discussions that help students apply biblical truth to daily life, recovery, relationships, work, and personal responsibility.
Participate in evangelism and lead men to love the Lord with all their heart.
Mentoring & Student Development
Build meaningful mentoring relationships with students and model Christ-centered living.
Encourage students in their walk with Christ and support their participation in chapel services, devotions, Bible reading, and spiritual growth activities.
Identify areas of spiritual maturity and growth opportunities and communicate observations to program leadership.
Program Support
Collaborate with mentors, work supervisors, and program staff to support each student’s overall growth and recovery.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and Adult & Teen Challenge educational workshops as required.
Maintain compliance with Adult & Teen Challenge educational and accreditation requirements.
Provide assistance with GED preparation, literacy, life skills, and workforce readiness as needed.
Organizational Relationships
Reports to: Directly to the Executive Director
Qualifications
An active Christian and in total agreement with the purpose, objectives, and principals and philosophy of Adult and Teen Challenge and Cincinnati Challenge Ranch.
High School Graduate. Experience to effectively teach the assigned class or activities required or documented training and maintain the necessary documentation.
Experience in disciple making movement practices is helpful but not required.
Hours:
May be a part time or full-time position, depending on the amount of the time required.
30-40 hours.
