Position Summary:
The DFR Operations Specialist is responsible for both the strategic and operational aspects of DFR trials, serving a unique role straddling pre and post-sales. This role is responsible for the implementation success and experience of the customer from before contract signing until the customer is operational and flying dock operations successfully..  This role shares the DFR portion of the Customer Success Plans (CSPs) with their counterparts in Customer Success and manages coordinates internally with the various teams to ensure that the customer is ready for dock deployment from an infrastructure as well as knowledge standpoint.  The DFR Operations Specialist oversees trial logistics, manages field operations, coordinates with contractors, and ensures smooth transitions to post-sales for scalability and growth. They can expect to work closely with colleagues in Sales, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success and Deployment Engineering, among others. This position serves on the DFR Launch Team, reporting to the DFR Program Manager. 

Responsibilities:

DFR Success Planning and Documentation

  • Develops and maintains the DFR-specific components of Customer Success Plans (CSPs) tailored to each trial.
  • Documents DFR-related processes, configurations, and outcomes, ensuring that all critical trial elements are captured to facilitate post-sales handoffs.
  • Collaborates with trial and operations teams to capture insights, best practices, and DFR-specific success factors for future reference and replication.
  • Ensures DFR documentation meets quality standards, supporting scalability of future deployments.
  • Assist with customer integrations to other platforms and software

Operations Management and Field Support

  • Manages daily operations of DFR trial programs
  • Addresses technical issues, troubleshoots, and implements workarounds to maintain smooth trial operations.
  • Works closely with product and engineering teams to relay field feedback, contributing to product improvements.
  • Maintains thorough records of DFR operational activities and outcomes, ensuring a seamless transition to post-trial phases.

Qualifications:

This role requires someone who is skilled and enthusiastic about relationship management as well as documentation and structure. To that end:

  • Experience working with customers, building relationships and measuring project progress is required.  Experience with executive leadership (Chiefs, City Council members) preferred. 
  • Experience working on large projects with cross-functional teams. Ideally, you have experience with managing those projects.
  • Must be willing to travel 80%
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Skilled in summarizing problems, risks and project status.

Compensation Range: The range for the on target earnings (OTE) is $120,000 - $150,000. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.
