Job Summary:
Synechron is seeking a skilled DevSecOps / SRE Developer to strengthen our cloud infrastructure and automation capabilities. This role focuses on ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of enterprise platforms through effective change management, collaboration, and technical excellence. By effectively integrating development, security, and operational disciplines, the successful candidate will enhance platform stability, support continuous delivery, and align with organizational goals. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to secure, scalable, and resilient systems critical to our enterprise operations.
Software Requirements:
Required:
- Proficiency with enterprise build and CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, Octopus
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Bash
- Knowledge of test automation tools like Selenium and JUnit
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
- Understanding of systems engineering fundamentals
Preferred:
- Cloud platform expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Relevant certifications in DevOps, AWS, Azure, or cloud security (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer)
Overall Responsibilities:
- Represent the team on change management boards, review, and challenge project plans for adherence to best practices and standards.
- Collaborate closely with architecture, change, and development teams to ensure project alignment and successful implementation.
- Analyze and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements, with a strong emphasis on security, reliability, performance, maintainability, and scalability.
- Ensure platforms meet defined service level objectives, maintaining high availability and performance standards.
- Drive automation, integration, and deployment strategies to facilitate continuous delivery and operational excellence.
- Promote adherence to security and compliance standards and participate in risk assessments.
- Monitor platform health and implement automated solutions for incident detection, troubleshooting, and resolution.
Technical Skills (By Category):
Programming Languages:
- Essential: Python, Bash scripting
- Preferred: Java (for integrations and automation tasks)
Systems Engineering & Infrastructure:
- Understanding of systems engineering principles and best practices for enterprise applications and infrastructure
- Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) is a plus
CI/CD & Automation Tools:
- Deep expertise in Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Octopus, Artifactory, and related build and deployment tools
Test Automation & Quality:
- Experience with Selenium, JUnit, and automation testing best practices
Cloud Technologies:
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native architecture principles
Security & Compliance:
- Awareness of security standards, vulnerability management, and secure coding practices
Experience Requirements:
- 7-12 years in a developer role with DevSecOps/SRE responsibilities, preferably within institutional banking or enterprise environments
- Proven experience working closely with vendors and implementing enterprise integration patterns
- Demonstrated success in automating deployment pipelines, enhancing platform security, and ensuring system reliability
- Alternative pathways: Extensive experience in enterprise IT operations, cloud engineering, or infrastructure support roles that include automation and security responsibilities
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Lead and participate in change review meetings, challenging and aligning project plans with best practices
- Collaborate with architecture, development, and change teams on requirements analysis and technical planning
- Develop and refine automation pipelines, deploying applications and infrastructure securely and reliably
- Conduct regular platform health checks and implement proactive monitoring and alerting solutions
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective measures
- Advocate for security best practices in all automation and deployment processes
- Ensure compliance with organizational, security, and industry standards in all deliverables
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Certifications in DevOps, Cloud computing, or Security (preferred)
- Relevant training in automation tools, cloud platforms, and security practices
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in DevOps and cloud technologies
