Why This Role Is Important to Arcadia


We are looking for a DevOps Leader. This role is the lead technologist on a team of 10 DevOps and infrastructure engineers, leading by doing. Take point on high complexity incident investigation and resolution, and guides strategic infrastructure-as-a-service projects. 


What Success Looks Like

In 3 months

- Complete company orientation and cybersecurity training 

- Familiarize yourself with the company's cloud architecture, infrastructure/services, and products

- Gain an understanding of our product operations and engineering integrations

- Meet the DevOps/infrastructure teams, product team, engineering teams, and key stakeholders in the company


In 6 months

- Progress made towards the unification of DevOps functions across teams 

- Review and standardization of CI/CD and other processes designed, next steps planned 

- Contributing to observability, telemetry, and other SRE related efforts to modernize Arcadia’s platform operations 

- Opportunities identified to improve efficiency and self-healing for data pipelines and similar processes 

- Managing day-to-day DevOps agile ceremonies, measuring team efficiency to goals 


In 12 months 

- Standardization of CI/CD solutions are in place with SOPs to address outlying needs 

- Multi-cloud solutions supported for data platform needs, with a standards-based approach to minimize rework/redesign 

- Identify/measure KPIs to align with organizational delivery goals 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Working as the right hand to the VP of Infrastructure/DevOps, you’re going to mature and transform our cloud operations and software automation
  • Leading from the front lines acting as solution architect, engineer, or administrator when needed. No task is too small or too big when there’s a compelling business need
  • Implementing observability frameworks across applications and infrastructure
  • Modernizing of legacy infrastructure and services using IaaC and repeatable, automation-focused solutions
  • Hunting for cost and performance optimization opportunities across cloud infrastructure environments
  • Migrating workloads to Kubernetes from DCOS and other legacy services
  • Expanding CI/CD infrastructure & practices to enable reliable, low-friction and zero-downtime code deployment across applications and services
  • Improving security posture by tracking and resolving software and cloud vulnerabilities
  • Senior technologist and escalation point for advanced and critical issues

What You'll Bring

  • You have 5+ years experience as a senior technologist maintaining and improving cloud-native software infrastructure
  • You’re customer-centric. You care about high quality and empathetic communication. You can lift up your teammates with new skills and ideas. You love solving big problems and can keep cool under pressure
  • You have deep experience in one of the three major public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) and some exposure to all three
  • You’re passionate about automating deployment, scaling and orchestration, and have worked with Docker and Kubernetes
  • You’ve matured workflow automation with tools like CircleCI, Github Actions, Jenkins, and ArgoCD
  • You have a strong handle on foundational markup and scripting languages (Python, Bash, SQL, etc.)
