Main responsibilities: 

  • Design, implement, and maintain DevOps processes using GitHub, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes 

  • Automate application and infrastructure deployment and management processes using Terraform/Terragrunt 

  • Monitor application and instance performance using APM tools and implement Chaos Engineering principles. 

  • Ensure application and infrastructure scalability, security, and cost-efficiency using DevSecFinOps principles. 

  • Collaborate with software developers to design and implement software solutions that meet scalability, reliability, and performance requirements. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues in a timely manner. 

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to improve efficiency and productivity. 

  • Maintain accurate documentation and provide regular reports on system performance. 

  • Continuously learn and keep up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends. 

About you 

Experience 

We are seeking an experienced DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer, who should have strong experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes, along with expertise in application and instance monitoring using APM tools. They should possess a desire for automation, a clear understanding of DevSecFinOps principles, and be able to improve software delivery performance. Proficiency in Git, GitHub, and understanding of GitHub actions, as well as experience with IaC tools like Terraform, are important. Good communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, and a development background with strong coding and scripting skills (preferably Python or JS/TS) are necessary.  

 

Soft skills 

  • Being able to analyse problems, think critically, and develop creative solutions is crucial. Strategic Thinking - ability to evaluate relevant areas of operation, formulate objectives and set priorities in a contextually relevant way, and develop plans consistent with long-term organizational interests. 

  • Strong communication skills ensuring that various stakeholders can digest technical information. Effective communication skills are crucial for DevOps/SRE professionals to convey technical concepts, collaborate with team members, and present findings or recommendations. 

 

Technical skills: 

  • A strong understanding of AWS services, such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and familiarity with Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration, is crucial for effectively managing and deploying software applications in a cloud-based environment. 

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, preferably Terraform and Ansible, or similar tools like Terragrunt, enables DevOps/SRE professionals to define infrastructure resources in a declarative manner and provision them consistently, efficiently, and reliably. 

  • Familiarity with APM tools like Instana, Prometheus, Grafana or Datadog is required as it allows DevOps/SRE professionals to gather insights into application health, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and ensure optimal application performance and availability. 

 

Education: 

  • While not mandatory, relevant educational background or certifications related to software development would be a plus.  

 

Languages 

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
