Job Overview
The Observability Engineering & Operations Squad will be operating the integration to MDPL solution & supporting Observability for the local assets of ING Germany.
There will be 3 focus areas:
- SRE
- Infrastructure
- Application support
Key Responsibilities
Coding & Platform Delivery
- Implement Dashboards and standards
- Do peer reviews
- Accelerate timelines while balancing quality and simplicity
- Execute and improve on controls and coding practice via for example automation or trying different methods to improve
- Ensure alignment to Architectural roadmaps and strategies
Support
- Implement reliable systems
- Timely resolution of incidents and problems
- Root cause analysis and remediation
- Manage technical debt
- Communication of changes
Leadership
- Help other developers
- Share knowledge on codebase
- Ensure compliance with ING standards
- Take ownership of assigned responsibilities
Key Capabilities/Experience
- Demonstrated experience:
- In delivering mission critical systems
- OpenTelemetry & Grafana stack
- To design and implement public/private cloud
- In mentoring other developers In an agile development lifecycle
- In the public and private cloud concepts especially compute, network, storage and data In cloud native application architectures and micro-services
- Be able to communicate effectively – verbal and written
- Ability to operate at own initiative with a pro-active attitude, within the directions and confines of management and bank policy
- Ability to liaise with a broad range of people, including line management, senior management, external suppliers and related people.
- Strong problem solving ability and strong analytical skills
Skills Required
- Experience delivering mission-critical systems
- Experience with OpenTelemetry and Grafana stack
- Design and implement public and private cloud solutions
- Mentoring other developers and supporting agile development lifecycle
- Understanding of public and private cloud concepts (compute, network, storage, data)
- Experience with cloud-native application architectures and micro-services
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate proactively within management and bank policy
- Ability to liaise with line management, senior management, and external suppliers
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
