Job Overview
As a DevOps engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional team to deliver robust and efficient engineering practice directed by business constraints while respecting controls. The role requires active collaboration with the developers, stakeholders, architects, and teams outside your area. You are also expected to report to your squad and chapter lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement (CI/CD) pipelines that are based on the ING change management standards
- Ensure that software being deployed via the pipelines meets the quality criteria and project constraints
- Design and implement automation to improve productivity and efficiency of the team
- Develop and maintain standards for software development and change management
- Setup, configure and maintain infrastructure and environments by utilizing public and private cloud services
- Setup, configure, and maintain monitoring and alerting of applications and environments running both on-prem or in the cloud
- Maintain service levels agreements for systems (availability, security, and performance)
- Provide solutions to new requirements utilizing the different platforms and services in ING
- Troubleshoot and provide solutions to technical problems encountered in assigned systems
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written) to different stakeholders
- Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers and new joiners
Key Capabilities/Experience
- At least two (2) years relevant experience on the DevOps practices including but not limited to: Change management, Automating software development processes, Application/Software product support and/or development, System design, setup, configuration, and maintenance in public and private cloud, Systems monitoring and alerting
- Experience in delivering mission critical systems
- Experience in mentoring other developers
- Experience in incident management
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities • Communication (Written and Oral)
Minimum Qualifications
Must-have skills
- CI/CD design and development (Azure DevOps, Jenkins or equivalent)
- Cloud fundamentals (certifications are a plus)
- Automation and scripting (bash, python, powershell or equivalent)
- Effective communication skills
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Nice to have
- Containerization and Orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)
- Systems administration (Linux or Windows)
- Monitoring systems (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana or equivalent) o Infrastructure as code
