Leidos has a current job opportunity for a DevOps Engineer supporting the C4ISR Solutions Operation. The DevOps Engineer will guide the definition, implementation, and delivery of programs focused on modernizing a variety of software systems. The selected candidate will leverage their skills in infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and software deployment across the software development lifecycle. In this role, there is the potential to support multiple contracts to help provide growth and broaden opportunities within Leidos.
This position will primarily be worked on site but will support a hybrid working schedule with up to 25% worked from home.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing input and expertise to senior engineers to maintain alignments with best practices and recommend system improvements while overseeing the automated deployment, roll-back, and monitoring of applications into software development, test, and production environment.
- Develop automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker/Podman, and Ansible.
- Apply DevOps expertise to ensure congruence of the various infrastructure, software, configurations and interfaces maintained under configuration control.
- Work with an Agile team, attend daily scrums; communicating and collaborating frequently with teammates to ensure successful completion of project objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation, infrastructure, and system issues.
- Proactively and independently identify, report, monitor, and assist with mitigation of technical risks.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance within 120 days of your start date with Leidos.
- Knowledge and understanding of DevOps trends and technologies.
- Experience designing, building and deploying DevOps pipelines with GitLab CI.
- Experience with container technologies, such as Docker or Podman, and container orchestration tools, such as Kubernetes.
- Understanding of basic networking protocols/functions (e.g., HTTP, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, SMTP, DNS.) and how they work in Kubernetes architecture.
- Experience with Linux/UNIX command line.
- Familiarity with Agile concepts.
- Excellent problem solving and analysis skills, including the ability to logically create structure and order from unstructured inputs.
- Self-starter that can work independently while possessing communication skills to work effectively with software development teams, customers, and senior program leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Requires an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- US Citizen with a Top Secret clearance.
- Professional cybersecurity certification such as Security+, or similar.
- Experience designing and implementing application deployment pipelines and developing software in a containerized environment with Kubernetes and Docker.
- Experience with Kubernetes application deployment/management tools such as Helm or Kustomize.
- Full software lifecycle automation experience (design, development, test, deployment), including deployment to a production environment.
- Previous SCM experience, including release planning, managing software baselines, merging branches, and producing software builds.
- Experience working with Agile software development teams and implementing continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
- Experience developing and deploying software in a DoD environment, including experience building and deploying software applications that meet DoD security standards and updating applications and code to meet security scans and security implementation guidelines (e.g. STIGs).
- Experience with USSTRATCOM ISPAN domain.
