The Purpose:

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and integration pipelines that support secure, scalable, and high-performing software delivery at AP+. This role ensures seamless deployment and operation of systems across cloud environments. It is hands-on in automating processes, managing configurations, and using AI-assisted development and monitoring tools to improve efficiency, code quality, and operational reliability.

The core accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to ensure reproducibility and consistency
  • Ensure infrastructure and deployment processes follow best practices for security, monitoring, and observability
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to streamline code integration, testing, and deployment workflows
  • Drive automation in operational processes to minimize manual interventions.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain deployment pipelines
  • Ensure infrastructure & deployment processes follow best practices for security, monitoring and observability.
  • Provision, configure, and optimise infrastructure cloud environments
  • Participate in quality assurance and resolve deployment issues
  • Manage stakeholder engagement, feedback, and issue resolution
  • Drive continuous improvement of DevOps tools, processes, and practices
  • Leverage AI-driven tools and methods to enhance DevOps efficiency and automation

The capabilities needed to be successful for this role are:

Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Certifications in cloud platforms, DevOps, or scripting languages are desirable

Experience: Approximately 3+ years in a DevOps or equivalent engineering role, ideally within technology-driven environments

Technical Proficiency:

    • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.(Gitlab CI preferred)
    • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CDK
    • Skilled in scripting languages including Bash, Python or GoLang
    • Familiar with container orchestration and major cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
    • Deep understanding of event-driven and microservices architectures

AI & Automation: Awareness of AI-enabled tools for software delivery and operations (e.g., AI-assisted coding, testing, anomaly detection) and their ethical, responsible application

Tooling & Monitoring: Experience with modern monitoring, logging, and alerting tools to ensure operational reliability

Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and performance optimisation skills

Collaboration & Communication: Effective at working across development, operations, and business teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable systems

Industry Insight (Desirable): Exposure to payments or financial technology environments is an advantage
