Join us as a DevOps Engineer
- In this varied role, you’ll primarily assist in automating tasks, supporting deployment processes, and maintaining system monitoring, with a focus on learning and applying foundational DevOps practices to improve DevOps maturity of the platform
- You’ll secure buy-in to DevOps methodologies from the product owner, platform lead, and other key business stakeholders and you’ll advise teams across platform and within the Centre of Excellence (CoE) on which DevOps capability uplifts would be best suited to their needs and abilities
- This role is available at senior analyst level
As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll assist in the adoption of DevOps practices and techniques within feature teams, platforms, domains, and CoE initiatives. Working closely with feature and platform teams, you’ll understand deployment pipelines and processes and assist in automating repetitive tasks via scripts or tools. As well as supporting the definition of specific roles, responsibilities, and deliverables within platform and feature teams, you’ll build and leverage internal and external relationships to ensure decisions made are commercially focused and create long-term value.
You’ll also:
- Support the setup and maintenance of monitoring tools to ensure system performance and uptime
- Maintain documentation for processes, workflows, and infrastructure configurations
- Continuously learn about new technologies, tools, and industry best practices
We’re looking for a someone with knowledge of the core principles and benefits of DevOps, and experience with common DevOps tools, source code management, deployment, and configuration tooling. You’ll be familiar with Python development, and you’ll have knowledge of the cloud platform, preferably on AWS.
Along with at least two years’ experience of working with code repositories, bug tracking tools, and Wikis, you’ll have knowledge of Agile methodology and associated toolsets and methodologies. Coding experience in Java would be beneficial, and you’ll have the desire to learn about new technologies and tools.
You’ll also demonstrate:
- Knowledge and experience of working within software engineering and IT operations
- An innovative approach to implement new ideas into automation
- Experience in scripting and working within a governed and regulated change frameworks
- Hands on experience of DevOps CICD tools such as Jenkins, GIT, and GitLab
- Experience of daily continuous deployment of business-critical systems to production
